Is Chor Sin at back door, or only opposite front door?

Recommended Posts

Hi, Love your forum.
I've just come across Lillian Too's 'Chinese Numerology in Feng Shui',
It raises some questions:
Question 1.
The chor sin star is stated as being opposite the siang sin star. Is this because of the assumption that the back door will always be opposite the front door? If the chor sin is the star associated with the back door, what if the back door(/secondary entrance) is located in a different direction?
Question 2.
On p.88 of the book, it details the 'Nine Star Colours'. These are:
1. White
2. Black
3. Green
4. Pale Green
5. Dull Yellow.
6. White
7. Maroon/Brown
8. White
9. Purple
As the 9 numerals are also associated strongly with the elements, this seems at odds in some places with the colours that I normally see associated with the elements:
1. => Water => Black/Blue
2. => Yang Earth => Brown
3. => Yang Wood => Green (same)
4. => Yin Wood => Pale Green (same)
5. => ?Middle Earth => Dull Yellow (same)
6. => Yang Metal => White (same)
7. => Yin Metal => White
8. => Yin Earth => Beige
9. => Fire => Red (Purple can also be fire).
Could you explain please?
Other Unrelated Flying Star questions:
Question 3.
I think I may have 'offended' the Grand Duke. I dug a drainage trench on the east side of my house, and the Grand Duke is in the East
this year. Is there anything I can do to 'apologise'?
Question 4.
Do you know where I can go to find out more on what the meanings of the number combinations (as well as how they are modified by the seasons) are for Flying Star Feng Shui?
Question 5.
Is 88 a more auspicious number for wealth creation than 888? I read in a Lillian Too's 'Chinese Numerology in Feng Shui' that on a natal chart 888 denotes wealth later in life and trials and tribulations before then.
I want the most auspicious wealth producing number for a new phone number. Is having 88 in the phone number more auspicious than
having 888?

No, Chor Sin or more properly called Zhou Xing - " Sitting Location " is opposite because it is always opposite the facing direction or Xiang Xing - " Facing Location " of the house or where your main entrance door is.
In general, the backdoor is not taken into consideration when one is doing a Flying Star. It should be the main entrance door or the door which has the house number.
If say, one has a backdoor or another door, one can do a Flying Star chart to find out or select which door is better of the two. Especially if the original main door is not so good.

The colours is actually considered like a `marker' or simply just a name such as: Tom, Dick or Harry.
For example, stars are called " Purple-White or Zi-Bai 9 Stars. The " colours " given to each of the Stars is simply their name and it is `isolated' and does not represent the Five Elements.
This is why you have difficulty matching some unusual colours to the Colours associated with each of the Five elements.
Therefore, each of the "star name" when translated as a clour does not really equate to the 5 element colours.
For example Zi (star 9) is Purple, however it is Star 9 which is weak Fire. Thus, the colours is related to the element Fire, and not by the name of the star.
You are pretty sharp in finding out the discrepancy as to why is there a " 5 Middle Earth".
I believe the author is " not aware " that there is no `Middle' situation in the strength of an element in true traditional `cure analysis' when used for analysis purposes.
There is either e.g. Weak Fire or Strong Fire. You will not see Professional FS Masters using an unusual term " Mid - Fire " or " Middle Fire ". One also do not use terms such as " Average Fire " etc...
The more accurate and correct term is Yang Earth.
Which is why when Yang Earth (5) and Yang Earth (2) meets, there is a misfortune. Yang and Yang clash.

Is there any effect on you. If so, try to ask for "forgiveness" by saying a silent `prayer' at the direction. I am not sure how effective this is but it is worth a try.

So far, this is time consuming due to the complexities especially modifications based on the seasons and understanding and linking of various theories, concepts, calendar system etc...

I read in a Lillian Too's

This is entirely up to your personal preference. This is because different people have different lucky number. Thus for some 8 may be a good number, but to others it may not be. So this is pretty much how you intend to interpret as lucky or unlucky numbers.
There are other unrelated topics such as specialised topics on Gambling etc...
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
