1. If you have seen samples of Chinese New Year greeting cards. Even `Red packets' for putting in money to family members and friends are also in red.
2. In this picture you can see a `typical' banner placed either above the main entrance of a house or at a main entrance area.
In this picture, you can also see the placement of auspicious red lanterns on the sides of the banner.
As this is a new house, the owners placed the red banners and lanterns in the hope of getting auspicious luck for their new home.
