About Bidadari Estate (in Toa Payoh Town)

Located in the central region of Singapore, Bidadari is well served by the North-East Line (Woodleigh and Potong Pasir MRT stations) and the Circle Line (Bartley MRT station). Known for its rolling landscape and picturesque greenery, Bidadari is envisioned to be a tranquil, urban oasis where residents can rest, relax, and connect with family and friends.

Referencing the area's green origins, the future Bidadari Park will be centrally located in Bidadari Estate, to form a green lung. The new Alkaff Lake will be situated within the park, to recreate the sense of tranquility of the former Alkaff Lake Gardens. To celebrate the rich heritage of Bidadari, the former Upper Aljunied Road will be transformed into a 700-metre Heritage Walk lined with conserved rain trees.

Bidadari Park will be complemented by Bidadari Greenway, a 1.6km-long "green spine" along Bidadari Park Drive which extends from Bartley Road to Upper Serangoon Road. Commercial and social communal facilities within adjacent public housing developments will line the Bidadari Greenway, creating opportunities for community interaction. A cycling and pedestrian network has also been planned for the estate, which will mostly run through the green corridors, the Bidadari Greenway, and the Bidadari Park, enabling residents to safely walk and cycle around the estate.

For shopping and dining needs, residents can look forward to the hawker centre integrated within Woodleigh Village, and the commercial facilities within the Woodleigh Mall/ Woodleigh Residences mixed development. You can also visit the neighbourhood centre located nearby at Potong Pasir Avenue

For families with school-going children, nearby schools include Cedar Primary School with an MOE kindergarten, Maris Stella High School (Primary and Secondary), Bartley Secondary School, and Cedar Girls’ Secondary School.

Case Study 1:  Is Unit 141's front door facing the stairs (staircase).

1. In reality No. The front door is facing the corridor half-wall.

2. However, some ultra conservative Feng Shui Masters (FSM) say that if one stands at the front door and if one can see the stairs (even the stairwell) then it is.

3. Fortunately, whatever the argument is; the good news is that by law it is a requirement that all Emergency EXIT Staircase Doors must be closed at all times. In the event that should there be a fire and smoke, both will not affect those running down the stairs.

Case Study 2A: Common Bin Lobby (CBL) not exactly beside the frontage of units 129 and 147 but a consideration under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui.

1. It all depends on the consideration of neighbours not to litter along the CBL.

2. As well as the maintenance & cleaning of the estate - CBL.

No Durian shells, No Dumping!

Case Study 2B: Pure perfection in the position of the CBL (See Below)

"The CBL is tucked away to a corner where if one does not want to go there, don't need to pass that area!"

Case Study 4:  Units #139 and #141 facing a GAP bad?

1. This is a double edged sword:

1.1. Windy strong winds blowing through the gap? If not controlled can affect both health and wealth.

1.2. If there is tranquil weather and gentle wind flow. Good Feng Shui! No issue with this GAP thing.

1960550351_1ParkEdge_@_Bidadari_9ShaQi.png.a46989a43503d8601dc3416159554d40.pngimage.png.33f08634226aa94972acbbbf85849c25.png

2. How do you define windy?

2.1. Hold an umbrella upright but the wind seems to take control, tilt the umbrella to one direction and try to force it out of your hands.. LOL.

Dear Master Cecil,

In determining the facing directions, I noticed that you have use the adjoined units (eg., 175 & 177 for E2 facing / 171 & 173 for W2 facing) - may I know the rational?

Under what circumstances where one should use the entire building (eg., includes 171, 173, 175 & 177) to determine the facing direction? Which in this case, the facade of that particular building was to face Bidadari Park.

Thanks.

Case Study: An In-depth understanding of the Frontage of a home. Is it always the main door? Who are the Conservatives & the Modernist. What lead to the Conservatives use of the Main Door only?

1. Who are the Conservatives and the Modernists?

2. An in-depth understanding of why the Conservatives has misunderstood the knowledge passed down by the ancients.

Thanks Master Cecil, yes I have read the articles beforehand - interesting to know about Unit's Frontage as Facing Direction vs the Unit's Main Door.

On the same note, what is your view on the orientation of the whole Building?

Because in this case, the entire Building (including unit 171, 173, 175 & 177) looks like a point-block, and it seems the Building is build to face the Park (potentially the most 'yang' side of the Building). Could this be considered as the Building's facing?

Great to know if there are other resources for me to read up, I can't seem to locate one that specifically talks about Building orientation for Flying Star calculation (and/or why one should not use such manner).

Thanks much.

Frankly, I am surprised to read your comments. As although my resource does not directly mention building facing;

Why called a Case Study?
A common / smart saying: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;
teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”

This forum is only a catalyst and not a “spoon feeding session or I do everything for you.”

This is why it is known as a Case Study (6) and not a fully worked review!

Good that you did your homework-:)

For blk 226A, unit 105 falls under this. Can this NW & Fire at heaven gate be rectified? A choice between unit 105 and 107, which is better? i personally prefer 105 as its a 2nd floor unit. Thanks

Extract of a past ranking excercise for 5 Bedrooms Type at ParkEdge @ Bidahari

Main Concern of Stack #105 is like the army experience:
"Watch Your Front!" = The Temple

image.thumb.png.8557c36274e36aebcaa1bd5895e4de4a.png

1. Optimized to breadwinner and spouse who are both West Group persons. Is one of the considerations, but this is not the only consideration.

2. Stack #105 was ranked as the10th choice = Last Choice. While #107 is at least the 6th choice.

The Main Concern for Stack #105

[Legend C] 3. The main consideration for #105 ranked the last choice is due to it having a view of the Chinese temple.

Sometimes, some may even get a whiff of incense burning if the wind blows towards stack #105 - especially low floor as per mentioned by you. Else, you get to keep on playing this song.. as a consolation... LOL

Where does the Winds (Incense smell) come from? by Teresa Teng

WATCH YOUR FRONT!

image.png.6feba3b62b8fa6ace0581872c3d40e85.png

[Legend X]  4. "X = Kitchen is in the inauspicious Fire @ Heaven's Gate. Which affect male breadwinner's career and also overall luck. The impact (if any) also depends on where the stove is located in these units." Thus for #105, the actual location of the stove - here is important.

[Legend L]  5. Expect some traffic noise along Mount Vernon Road U/C and sometimes the screeching sounds of vehicles braking or even kissing each other.

Some of us may consider purchasing a home near a Chinese Temple. However, especially when it comes to a future re-sale, we also have to content with the sentiments (if any) of the future buyer. Thus there is always a risk of either lower resale value or lower demand for your home.

All temples often have a corner of it's premises with a reasonable large incense burning point for their devotees to burn offerings such as shown in the photo. Some temples also have it in the shape of a bottle gourd or hulu.

Let's home the smoke does not blow into one's home. Often one has limited redress. And may have to live with it!

Pray hard to the temple is not as popular as this one!

@ Piermont Grand EC luckily the place of worship is not a temple

How nice if it was not a Chinese temple but a Japanese Soka Centre
As it looks more like a community hall than a Chinese or Indian temple. LOL

Fortunately, it is the Singapore Soka (Japanese) Association. Where the building looked mellowed, unlike that of a Chinese or Indian Temple.

Case Study: Every site even this development has it's the Good, the Bad and the Ugly Units

1. Remember, even if a geomancer says that this is a good development. However, a good unit also depends on where it is within the development:

1016030592_THEBELLCURVE(1).png.6bd8421a800bf571c5f03c1f9fa4a481.png

2. Is your potential unit under the Good, the Bad or the Ugly?

971573323_THEBELLCURVE(3)A.thumb.png.42e5c2184f174bfa1d33f630df7f5658.png564893878_THEBELLCURVE(2).thumb.png.b12d753baed592dd7739556efd6e0a6e.png

3. Often if one is lucky, even if the unit is not so fantastic superficially. Some units are like an unpolished gem. While others unfortunately may be a hopeless rotten apple.

3.1. Just imagine, if the unit is like a 10 year old rundown 1,000 cc car. Even a good Feng Shui Master is unable to turn it into a good unit!

1223152688_unpolishedgemorlemon.png.abb51c55256cd4cbcda8809d95be7a7a.thumb.png.60f198235c0ec9fd543d82bb3bdb9a0a.png

By the way, (above) this falls under Habit Number 11.

4. Under Habit 1, one possibility is by ranking one's bedroom type by stack/unit: 1st choice, 2nd choice etc...
