Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 12, 2021 Author Staff Share Posted July 12, 2021 Case Study 1: Welcome to a world where every unit gets close to equal WHITE NOISE (Noise pollution) from MRT train movements/braking! YES, LET"S SHARE THIS AMONGST EVERYONE! Sounds Communists.. doesn't it? Note: The White Streaks is a rough illustration of noise pollution reverberating to ONE and ALL .. LOL (If you ask me, it is a stupid idea really & truly.) For example, such funnels actually TRAPS & EVEN ECHOES sound .... LOL In my opinion, again a stuPIG idea designed by brainless people. Perhaps the designer's mantra is: YOU STAY THERE WE DON'T! SO WHY I CARE! 1. In the past developers had toyed with how to place their developments in relation to an elevated MRT tracks and trains. 2. For example, a silly idea was that of Tropical Spring Condo where it's U surrounds the MRT track. 2.1. This means especially the entire stacks/units within the inner U can have some sort of noise from the MRT trains running on it. 3. And then some developers decided that there must be some sacrifical "lambs or goats" where for example Capsian has block 54 to bear the brut of most of the MRT train movement noise. So goes for The Lakefront Residences especially block 42 and Lakehomlz with blocks 86 and 88:- 4. Pasir Ris 8 Site plan design means that every single block is not spared from the echo of every train movement. Given that there are totally no blocks nor Multi Storey Car Park (MSCP) to buffer it for the REST of the development. 5. Actually previously had written this concern in a near-by HDB development. LOL This development is HDB Costa Ris. Which Pasir Ris 8 seems to (roughly) try to mimic it:- Blocks & Site Plan = 1 Star out of 5 Probably or Confidently will be the worst Site Plan of the whole of 2021! Yucks! Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 12, 2021 Author Staff Share Posted July 12, 2021 "a" All I wanted was no that no unit face the MRT tracks. Did not mean really mean to make such a "Mess". Luckily as you had mentioned: YOU WILL END UP STAYING THERE. I DON'T! I will collect my fees and WASH MY HANDS FOREVER! LOL!
grizzly
The project is built above a mall which will have a polyclinic. Will this affect Feng Shui?
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 14, 2021 Author Staff Share Posted July 14, 2021 1 hour ago, grizzly said: The project is built above a mall which will have a polyclinic. Will this affect Feng Shui? Good question. Fresh in some of our minds was the debacle of did we site a hospital too close to shopping malls? That of Ng Teng Fong Hospital and it’s ancillaries? When Singapore met a situation of suspected “cross-contamination” where most likely person or persons passed through a mall. Some touted that a hospital should be “Isolated or on it’s own” to avoid such a drastic closure. Perhaps it may be different for a Poly. (Most likely, it may be the crowd. And thus the higher risks..) But there can always be a biased that one’s home should not be near to anything associated with a Poly, Hospital, Temple etc. Such stigmas will always be stuck to some. Thus if we are okay with it. And in a potential resale, a potential buyer may not be comfortable with it! How to convince such persons otherwise? Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 14, 2021 Author Staff Share Posted July 14, 2021 Case Study 1A: What is the difference between an EC/Condo unit ( includes past Privately built DBSS) Vs most HDB flats? 1. It’s a balcony and Personal Enclosed Space PES. 2. From personal experience, even staying in a home with pool side views + a room with a bay window; eg. 4 storeys high, noise simply bounce to the RC roof of the bay window and magnified into the bedroom or living room. 3. This is why several recent developments provide sound proofing panels eg. The Clementi Canopy for units facing the AYE, The Visionaire EC for specific units facing the MRT tracks. 4. Thus can envision what it may be like for white noise “victims” at this condo. 5. Just maybe the developer provides this, here? My write-up of The Visionaire has some photos of the sound proofing panels. Actually it is more of a reduction of it. Let’s hope their showroom does not any any theme associated with the Three Musketeers! “All for one and all for one!” Let’s share the train noise together!
