Buddhist Altar

dear masters,


i'm a buddhist and we have a buddhist altar at home. i would like to find out if there is any implications if the buddha statue has suffered defects over time, eg, cracks, discoloration and missing corners. kindly advice. thanks!

Generally, any type of statue will suffer from wear and tear. As long as it is not the face, it should be ok to keep it untouch. If it is really in a very bad condition, then you should consider to check with the buddhist monks to see if they recommend to replace it or not. Usually, they will be able to advise you better and also provide the necessary ceremony to help you replace it.
