Received old things during CNY

Dear Cecil

During Chinese New Year my brother passed me his books which he said he has finished reading. My sister passed me her clothes which she said too small for her or she doesn't wear anymore. I received these "old" items after the 5th day during CNY.

Please advise if this is bad luck for me since I received people s old books n clothes. And will the person who give receives good luck instead?

Thank you

Paris

Frankly, if one has close relationship with one's brother and sister; then; in my opinion there is no "ill" attached to such gifts even it is during the CNY period.

In fact, it is also good for the enviroment; ie. active recycling.

Often, many parents would be very glad especially to get hand-me downs especially for their growing children from relatives, cousins and even friends.

Under this category; some parents appreciate this very much as often their growing child grows fast and cannot wear them anymore. Furthermore, many feel that such clothings are even more comfortable to wear etc...

Thus rather than be concerned; some of us wish we have such a brother and sister.. and may consider you fortunate...
