  1. I have read from a Lillian Too 's book that a five solid rod wind chime can be used to counter 5 yellows for year 2000, but I also read from this website that a 5 solid rods wind chime should not be used. Can someone please explain the significant and use of solid wind chime as compare to hollow wind chime. thks .

  2. Dear Ang Chye, Upon reviewing your message, I would like to inquire about your reasons for wanting to hang a Wind Chime. Is it solely due to the presence of star 5 in the year 2000? Or is it because the imbalance of Star 5 in that particular sector necessitates the use of a Wind Chime as a remedy? Personally, there are more effective cures available than using a Wind Chime, which can often come with complications such as varying element types of rods, different rod numbers, and hollow or solid rods. Additionally, incorrect placement of a Wind Chime may lead to more issues rather than resolving the existing problem. It is advisable to only apply a cure if you are certain of imbalances in the sector. While Star 5 is classified as a Sickness or Misfortune type of star, similar to Star 2, both being of Strong Earth, your focus seems to be on the star 5 of the year 2000. To determine whether this star is auspicious or inauspicious, it is essential to consider the 20-year base star, such as 6-3-8 (where Mountain & Water are related to the 20-year base star). When Star 5 enters, it becomes 6-3-8 plus 5 years. This does not necessarily mean that the 5 star will bring bad luck or create an inauspicious sector. In terms of Flying Star, there are triple combinations like Wood, Fire, Earth, which are considered harmonious and lead to the production of Metal and Water, promoting harmony. Therefore, if your intention to hang a Wind Chime is solely due to the presence of star 5 in that sector during that year, it is advisable not to do so. Moreover, there are more effective cures available than using a metal 5 solid rod Wind Chime, such as 6 coins with a red string, which do not pose the risk of attracting playful imps or come with complications. These cures have been proven to be highly effective for Stars 2 and 5. However, I must emphasize that I am not suggesting the use of 6 coins without knowing the specific imbalances you are experiencing that prompt you to consider this remedy. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

  3. Dear Anon, Please see below:- By definition, brown (and green) belongs to the wood element. For example, oak, teak, american cherry wood (dark or light) etc.. belong to the wood element in lieu that their colour is brown. Where it comes to pine, it is still wood element but an experienced Feng Shui practitioner would ask their clients to avoid this type of material i.e. pine ( sold in IKEA ) as it resembles closer to `yellow' or earth element. Therefore, if in doubt, a FS practitioner would normally, try to advise their clients to go more for other popular wook grains such as teak and the popular cherry wood type of colour. 1. For most shapes, colour takes precedence over the form. Thus, a wooden furniture painted red would represent the Fire element (red, purple or pink). 2. However, for `unusual shapes' or a pyramid type of object, the form precedes the colour. Thus, even if the pyramid object e.g a clock mounted on a pyramid should still be considered a Fire element because of it's pointed shape even if say it is black or white in colour. 3. It is never wise to post such a question in say an open forum. Here, the argument on the above would never end. 4. In my opinion, what I mentioned, therefore is based on my personal experience. I would say it is a `fair view'. 5. But, some FS practitioners may not agree with the view. I really cannot help it if they have their own comments. 6. Ultimately, you have to come to your own conclusions. 7. I find that if it is a small object e.g. a piece of decorative table clock encased in a pyramid form, it has miminal influence or very secondary type of Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  4. FIVE YELLOW These are some of the considerations:- 1. Frankly, it is so easy to ask someone else: " it is too risky " to stay in THIS BEDROOM. 2. You have correctly coined it "risks". Everything we do, we have to accept some risks. 3. In practical sense, many of us don't own a home with "x" number of bedrooms. Many in fact, have so few bedrooms. And just asking a family not to allow family members to sleep in a room is close to "kicking" them out of the home! 4. Of course, one can say that it is much better than being an "eunuch". But hey, ifthe family has all "girls-team" this statement becomes irrelevant. 5. In my life-time; I have noted comments by some clients who had their homes Feng Shuied before. One "culture-shock" was that some were even told never to use themaster toilet! 6. My GOD! Isn't this worst than being an eunuch (for the male breadwinner) who is suppose tooccupy say the master bedroom? 7. One of the dreaded coloursespeciallyfor a bedroom is "BRIGHT YELLOW".Thus one could reduce the incidencealso by avoiding "warm light" vs "cool daylight" lamp. 8. Risks are inherent in our life! 9. Usually, Feng Shui is not a "doom-all" neither is it a cure all! Everything or every risks cannot be borne on the shoulders of blame on Feng Shui. 10. The main blame is also on human (man factors) like healthy exercise; not staring the computer screen all day long.. And not about all the "rich" food that we consume. 11. Commonsense things like: space clearing; cleaniness in the bedroom; personal hygiene counts. Positive, non-duress or stress - from work can also affect one's health. 12. Modern inventions like air-cleaners or such cleaners cum ionizer's does wonders. 13.If at home, often open windows to let fresh air come-in. Morale of the story? I may consider asking the person who recommends me to "shut-down" my master toilet to become an eunuch. I will challenge him - are you man enough to use the sissors to "cut your joy-stickoff? By the way (BTW); my policy is one for one exchange. You bring one of those; I give you one of those play stations! Fair enough? 6. Thank you for your reply and enlightenment. Indeed, we are often constricted by the negativeness that we forgot the fundamental of fengshui studies. It makes perfect sense, now that you pointed out the flow of qi and. In our case, the door opens into the South sector, so are the windows. Basing on what you have responded, our room is then influenced by the South sector stars. Would it still be wise to sleep and work in that room? Our present room is located in the SW. Mountain star 3, water star 8, period star 4. In 2013, SW is where flying star 2-black flies in to. If we can't use the South sector room, can we continue to sleep and work in SW room? (I work from home)

If we can't use the South sector room, can we continue to sleep and work in SW room? (I work from home)" These are some considerations: 1. In my opinion, there are many ways of neutralising the threat. 2. You stay there, we (geomancers) don't. 2.1. I personally feel that it is not ideal to go purely into text book case (or case studies). 2.2. For example, it is all so easy for a geomancer to tell a person and family: avoid sleeping in this bedroom or studying in it. Here, one has to live with it for the rest of their time in that home. 2.3. Often, once in a while, as a geomancer we encounter clients who said that their previous geomancer say cannot use this toilet and they only visit the home for a few hours or less and we have to live with it. 3. Frankly, such practices are really "pitiful". And like a continuum: cannot be the extreme of hot and cold. This is beyond the norm. Or rather extremist view. As a bedroom is suppose to be a bedroom, a bedroom. And a bedroom is not some kind of a sealed up "Do not cross police line" type of situation.

  8. A 5-2-9 combo in a NW kitchen is not so good as stove is fire and thus builds 5/2 earth negative star plus the 9 amplifies whole mess. I was thinking on putting a clock with metal chime and pendulum in kitchen. Would this be a good cure to control Wu Wang energy? Many bad luck things have happened since moving in. What do you recommend? Thank You.

  9. If the kitchen has a window, then, you may consider especially a six hollow rod wind chime. If you really can't find a 6 hollow rod wind chime; then as a last resort, get those with hollow (rods). Your alternative of putting a clock with metal chime and pendulum is an alternative provided the pendulum is made of real metal. Nowadays, many "fake" pendulum clocks have pendulums that are made of plastic but sprayed painted in metallic colour.
