pet feng shui advice

I have a small kitchen and recently added a small metal shelving unit. Due to space constraints I had to put my cats' food and water bowls on the bottom shelf. I am concerned that the shelf above the "feeding shelf" will act as a beam or otherwise create negative feng shui for the cats. Any advice?
