Dear Cecil, Is there really a generally good or bad direction for houses ? Is it true that houses with balcony facing south-east has bad feng shui ? Or door facing north-east ? Thanks.

My birth element is Weak Fire and I was told that my best directions are South and North. However, according to the Eight Mansion Theory, my Kua number is 6 and therefore West is my best direction while South & North are my worst directions (Chueh Ming & Lui Sha). I am really confused - Can you explain which theory should I adopt - ie. which direction(s) is(are) actually my best direction(s) ? And where should my oven mouth face ? I bought a new house with the door facing north-east while the balcony (and also most of the windows) facing south-east ? Is the direction really bad ? Any advice for me ?
