Compass Reading

Hi Cecil I have purchased a normal (simple one with the 8 directions) compass and would like to make sure that I am reading them correctly. If I placed the compass on the floor of my main door (pls see attached simple drawing) and the North needle points to the right side of the door, does it means that my main door is actually facing the West (slightly SW)? Thank you.

2 Main Doors facing each other

HI My main door (new HDB) is directly facing my neighbour's main door. As it's corner unit, there isn't much "common corridor" between us. Please advise is this considered bad for flow of "chi"? Thank you.
