The oldest public housing development is located along Tiong Bahru area. The old airport road area type of public housing is considered second to the abovedevelopment. Fortunately, these quaint 1960's type of public housing has not being demolised along Dakota Crescent. These are "retained" for now... Because of it's close proximity to Singapore's first ever airport located near-by (currently People's Association along Nicol Highway; these flats are always up to a certain resticted height. Since the airport had moved to Paya Lebar and now to Changi airpot; newer development across the street e.g. Jalan empat etc... are high rise development. Not limited by the height rest…

HDB Compassvale Mast & internal dry walls I was wondering how long will HDB follow suit in using dry walls for the interior partitions. That was in 2011 when the Livia condo just TOP. I walked into the unit and knocked on all the interior walls. These walls were all dry walls. And for this development another surprise... the toilet interior walls were also non-concrete walls. Just last year, a client sold his nearby CDL unit in the same development and opted for an older condo that had interior solid walls. This client says he just hated a home with such dry walls. It was and designed by Reginal Eyre of the architectural firm Palmer and Turner. It was one of the 1st high-rise buildings in Orchard Road. During that time, the MacDonald House housed mainly British, American and Australian companies. I remember clearly that the show rooms of British made cars such as the mini-clubman was along this area.
