The slender front of the renowned Khong Guan Biscuits Factory takes us back to the 1950s. The primary entrance features a RED star. One might have assumed that this was once the headquarters of a Communist Party, were it not for the sign above that reads "Khong Guan Biscuits". How nostalgic!

Case Study: This home has a very practical and functional window design at their flat/unit with living room windows sharing the common corridor of a HDB flat. The home owners changed the existing sliding windows by "splitting it into two. With the lower half being frosted. Has to anything to do with Feng Shui? Not directly. It has more to do with common sense. For example, if one is more likely to open the windows because of the split windows; this means that the home can be more airy and allow for better ventilation within. Related: Which units are lucky at Skyville @ Dawson? +++ Even if an architect is only paid to design the interior layout; at least; the architect should try to put themselves "in the shoes of home owner". How true; always that: "We stay there, you don't applies!". Just take a look at this HDB 4 bedroom flat layout in some of the stacks of Skyville @ Dawson. (See attachment). A. THE LIVING ROOM 1. Although the living room width is of a generous or rather "too generous" size; instead; the architect should have should have an allowance at marking in red "A" for a reasonable sized dining table, there. 2. As a result of this no…

HDB Keat Hong Pride is within the greater piece of land which once was an army camp i.e. Keat Hong camp. HDB Keat Hong Pride sits at the fringe of once was the fence of the army camp. And distinctively the MRT trains are so close, but yet so far. Hopefully the government heed the request by new residents of this estate to have another train station "Keat Hong station". Similar to the Dover station and the current under construction Canberra station.

Catholic: The Church of the Holy Family in Katong Even near-by roads are named after it. Such as Chapel Road. Did you see how many languages? English, Mandarin & Indian. Representing the wide influence it has with these three races in Katong. The construction of the road, now known as East Coast Road in early 1920 facilitated the development of Tanjong Katong. Some families purchased plots of land in the area, which included Mr. James Leonard Scheerder, who developed a coconut plantation around Marine Parade, Chapel and East Coast Road. The De La Salle Brothers also bought a plot of land, at which the St. Patrick's School now stands. At that time, the Broth…
