This Chinese religious home has a highly decorated frontage. With a Tee Kong (Earth god) figurine and altar on the floor. Did you see the Earth God (Tee Kong) - wearing yellow clothing? Look closely at attachment: my home5.jpg Perhaps, there are two items missing: two lanterns on each side of the main door and/or a red "Ang Cai" banner above the main door entrance!

The slender front of the renowned Khong Guan Biscuits Factory takes us back to the 1950s. The primary entrance features a RED star. One might have assumed that this was once the headquarters of a Communist Party, were it not for the sign above that reads "Khong Guan Biscuits". How nostalgic!

Hi Everyone, The enclosed logo is made up of the following:- a. Background : Purple representing the Fire element. b. Logo : An ancient Chinese coin representing Metal element. Under the destructive cycle: Fire destroys Metal. Under the Five Elements concept: When Fire destroys Metal, this is considered creating wealth i.e. one way of creating wealth is to look at the destructive cycle and the element that destroys the next element on the destructive cycle can be considered to produce wealth. However, one must take not that for individuals, for example, if you are a Strong fire person, it is no problem for you to destroy Metal to produce wealth. But if you are a Weak fir…

Hi Everyone, Besides Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, the two lion statues each tied with red cloth is found on a Bank of India Branch in Singapore's country's Central Business District. It is not necessary to place the lion statues at a specific facing direction e.g. the West direction. But rather, it is commonly found on both sides of the main entrance to `guard' the premises. In the picture the two lion statues are tilted at an angle against the flow of traffic (of the one way street). One interesting comment is that `Feng Shui' is well spread all over the world and since China is very close to India, influences such as Buddhism came from India. We can today say that …

In Singapore, in many clusters of estates that have landed properities; the most popular ornaments are a pair each of the lions on the gates of many Chinese homes. This estate is in Paya Lebar called Tai Keng Gardens. The most remarkable thing is that there are two homes that have large sized lions. I do mean large ones that can only be placed on the floor: one set is found beside each front gate pillar and there is another set placed behind the main gate (beside the porch pillar..) As usual, there are the white lions and some homes have the ceramic glazed "brownish" type...

1. This water feature is in "orange" colour. 2. Under the Five Elements concept: Metal element = circle (e.g. the circular ball design of the water feature); and orange can also be considered as "gold" colour or metal element. 3. This follows the tradition of exchanging oranges when some one visits a home. And the two dialects: Cantonese : Kum or mandarin orange sounds like GOLD. While the Hokkiens call it : Kim = also gold. While "Peach" colour is pinkish and belongs to the Fire element (Fire element - red, pink or purple).

Elephants are revered in Thailand. And considered a workhorse in India. Elephants symbolises great strength and astuteness (shrewdness). And an animal of high moral standards... Recently... we hear of a prominent golf legend....let's hope his home does not have this twin elephants on any of his home's porch pillars... as only those with high moral standards aka.. elephants should ever display them. Thus for those who is considered loose... please forget about placing these items!

Location: Mountbatten Road. (Used to be the main road connecting the East Coast to the city. That was before the ECP came into being) It is a pity that we can only see the Ang sana trees that were planted at least 30 to 50 years ago. What a pity, they are no longer planted on most of today's roads. As HDB estate roads are both narrow and does not have a road side divider; such trees are no longer seen in new HDB estates like Sengkang, Punggol, Choa Chu Kang etc... This tree has low branches and as they radiate towards the road; the branches were often trimmed. Even so, the tree managed to retain a balanced "umbrella" shape. The ang sana trees we…
