Due to the birth control policies of mainland China, there are now around 53 million one child family. These children (boys or girls) are treated as `little emperors' by their parents and grand parents. Can you imagine being young without a single brother or sister to play with? Warmest Regards, Cecil Dear cecil, - Cross posted from Chinese Culture conf. - I read that there is one child policy in China. What happens if a couple gets pregnant again after having one baby. Thanks. Cecil: Usually they have to go for an abortion.

It is a pity that this old 1950's elevated-terrace home is so run-down. I believe... in a few years time... it will disappear / demolished totally...

Dear All, In Hong Kong, Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation HQ building took a desperate attempt to place two cannons. Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners spare no efforts to use `black' feng shui on others. Even in Singapore, some buildings were built on `black' Feng Shui e.g Suntec City. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Attached please find two sample paper-cuttings. 2. Can you imagine the skill involved in cutting out these pictures? 3. It is indeed a dying art and few can do these fine cuttings. The paper used is very thin and `fragile' coloured paper. 4. Please examine these two pictures carefully and you can see the fine lines of thin coloured paper.

1. Snuff bottles Chinese snuff bottles are unique because they are not only hand painted but painted from within the bottle. Imagine using a brush and inserting it into the small hole on the top of the bottle and painting a `mirror' image of landscapes etc.. inside the bottle. Truly amazing! 2. Stone paintings Usually, happy children faces are painted on stones. In one of the stone paintings, can you spot a child eating a water melon? 3. Golden Roosters This is a 24K gold plated Golden Rooster from RISIS Pte Ltd at www.risis.com.sg The owner certainly has `No taboos' displaying it in the house. Oops.. am I referring to myself:) *JOKE* Click here: http://www.geomancy.net/…

This private development @18A Fort Road(under construction)comprising of a total of 12 storeys is tall and thin. Not because it is now clad in a green dust/protective screen that makes it a wood element; but instead, the characteristics of a wood building is that it is thin and (reasonably tall). Contrast this to the building seen to the right of the photo; The Meyer Residence; which is rectangular in shape and is considered as belonging to the earth element. Thus, this wood element building can take advantage of The Meyer Residence when it comes of age (TOP). P.S. Apologies if the building looks like it is leaning to the right. Blame it on my photo taking instead…

This home places a lone "fierce" tiger guarding the home. If one notice carefully, the tiger's back is protected by a vast network of a cactus plant! Truly extreme and one of it's kind....

In my opinion, I personally do not like the colour scheme for this new block of government public housing. Personally, I feel that it is a mismatch of colours especially white with apriot. Furthmore, the wall relief reminds me of the design found on water tanks above the roof tops.

1. Numerous blocks associated with the same neighbourhood HDB flats; at the VOID deck (ground level), every pillar appears to have a tag, such as C4033, etc.. 2. What is the reason for the excessive tagging of the pillars across several blocks of flats? 3. These flats were built between 1984 and 2003, specifically around 1997. They are relatively new and do not appear to be in disrepair. Is it necessary to monitor each pillar as if they are in critical condition? 4. Perhaps the town council requires precise identification of each pillar and its location. For instance, a maintenance team might be alerted... 4.1 Block 391A Compassvale Street, Pillar no. C4033 has st…

For a house which has sloping back and in this example with a major road at it's back, such retaining brick walls are ideal. Notice that the retaining wall(s) are of sufficient height.
