Source & Credit: The 👻 "Hungry Ghost Festival" is in full swing this month (also known as 👻 "Zhong Yuan Jie 中元节" in Mandarin). I am sharing this surviving artefact from Clyde Terrace Market (colloquially known as "铁巴刹 Ti Pa Sat"), which was once Singapore's largest market but no longer exists. The market was particularly vivacious and bustling during the 👻 "Zhong Yuan Jie 中元节" celebrations. This wood block with the text 👻 "庆中元 Qing Zhong Yuan" carved in reverse was by "再合兴公司 Zai He Xing Gongsi" to be used for the celebrations. 😊🙏🤍🙏🤍🙏🤍 This month's "Chinese Yuan Festival" activities are in full swing.
