There is something special in this HDB estate. For example, it does not costs much to add this to the hard to see lift buttons overlay. Making the difficult to see buttons clearly visible: Looks classy: Functional table with Chinese chess set overlay + easy to wipe stainless steel table-TOP:- Location: Canberra Road flats facing Sembawang MRT station:-

The famous New World Park amusement opened it’s doors in the 1920’s. In April 1987, the park closed its doors. Today, this replica gate stands at the gateway to City Square Mall and City Square Residences.

Former Geylang Fire Station closes it’s doors in the early 2000’s. Where once these doors opened to allow fire trucks to speed to their scene; the frontage is sunken and now occupied by a five foot walk-way with railings... 1960’s map of Singapore Shopping the location of the former Geylang Fire Station. Roads like Lorong Engku Aman was flatten. And now sits the Paya Lebar Quarter. While the MRT station and Paya Lebar Square is upstream. A while back, I visited a client in Bukit Merah. As his HDB flat is more than 30 years old; he told me that nearly every day; someone in his "slab" block is always changing floor tiles. And the noise from such renovations is quite unbearable. Fast-forward... two years ago, I visited the Sky Habitat show-room. And was "surprised" that such a large designer condo "slab" made up of two huge towers only provide "ceramic" floor tiles... And often, there is a likelyhood that especially after the flat(s) changed hands, some owners may most likely change the floor tiles. And since there are so many units in each block in Sky Habitat... erh... good luck to the owners! Assuming if…

Blocks 2 & 3 Changi Village Road are nestled in the heart of idillic old Changi Village which was built in the 1920s when the British military bases were operating in the area. When the British left in the 19703, the Housing & Development Board redeveloped the current Changi Village estate and built a market and a hawker centre which soon became a favourite lunchtime destination for military personnel, airport staff and workers from the nearby Loyang Industrial Estate. Over the years, the hawker centre has retained its laid-back atmosphere and developed a reputation as a favourite destination for foodies. Today, it is an iconic landmark in Changi and …

Have you ever explored the historical background of Balestier Road? Novena MRT & Novena Square were previously located on a Jewish cemetery. Alternatively, Balestier Hill Shopping Centre used to occupy a Chinese cemetery. Novena Church was constructed on the site of a former Chinese monastery. Here is a map of Singapore from 1954: - Presently, Kamgpong Chia Heng road has been replaced by Irrawaddy Road, which now connects Balestier Road directly to Thomson Road. Next to the former Thomson Road Police station stands the Thomson Medical Centre. Novena MRT and Novena Square were once located on a Jewish cemetery, while Balestier Hill Shoppi…

Capital Tower at Robinson Road was originally planned and built by POSBank in the early 2000’s to be it’s new HQ. The bank was suppose to move into this new “Rocketship design” around 2003 from it’s existing HQ at Bras Basah Road. But when DBS took over the bank.. this was history. Today, CapitaLand and anchor tenants GIC, JP Morgan occupies the floors.
