  1. Hello, I read with interest regarding the given situation for a students room. 1) According to Shapes and Form FS, is it acceptable for a study desk not to be immediately against a wall. 2) and is it acceptable for the study desk to be facing a large built in wall size wardrobe - with say one of the desks sides immediately adjacent against a wall? 3) is it also acceptable to place a study desk with the persons back if there is a bed and balcony doors direclty behind the desk 4) i've attached a sample diagram. your comments is kindly appreciated. Kind regards Scott
  2. Dear Cecil, Thank you for your comments. It is very informative insight which you have offered. Singapore is a lovely green city/country. Recently I was in Singapore during 2003 Chinese new year. I was fortunate to catch sightings of the festival activities with friends and it was quite fun. i'll make a mental note to ask about temple feng shui next time i visit a temple. Kind Regards Scott
  3. Dear Cecil, Thank you for your replies. it is most appreciated. I look forward to your further comments about this thread. Kind Regards, Scott
  4. happy new year 2004 and chinese new year to everyone! :D $$$$ Dear Teachers, The chinese monkey year is soon approaching on january 21 2004, i would like to know does the new period have really big changes for specific chinese animal zodiac years, if it affects an individuals auspicious directions in terms of sleeping and study directions and income earning ability (need part time job to support study in australia), and ; should FS activities done before or after the change of chinese new year. I have read through your archives about aspects bedroom fengshui for students. I know its not a means to an end for everything outside the bedroom, but i think its a good starting point because I spend much time studying (maths sciences) and sleeping in the bedroom apart from attending classes and outings. I have been puzzled in finding a balance in arranging the bed and study desk in my bedroom. I understand the ideas according to the following links, http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm , in particular the figure for favourable bedroom plans ( http://www.geomancy.net/resources/bedrmf.gif and http://www.geomancy.net/resources/bedrmx4.gif ). But I am confused in how to negotiate this with my personal analysis recommendations. perhaps u can quickly access my profile to understand much of wot I will try to describe. I live in a 2 floor townhouse unit and the main door faces north (and other neighbours and passing residents traffic), and my bedroom with outdoor balcony is on the 2nd floor above an internal closed car port - car port is used mainly as a store room for shoes and lots of other things. outside on the balcony is an old - unused unused incence pot. The shape of my room is rectangular (4x6meters). While (looking out the door, from inside the room) the bedroom door faces south, and is directly opposite the bathroom door, and my bedroom door is immediately adjacent to the stairs. - ive' read having the bathroom toilet door opposite the bedroom door is not so good, will placing a door curtain help as a cure? There is a built in wardrobe on the same wall as the door. it extends from the wall about 1 meter. the effect of this is an exposed corner pointing directy in my best bed/sleeping position. There is the balcony glass sliding door (facing north, looking from inside out) directly opposite the bedroom door. Is the flow of 'chi' priority in this aspect too?...or there is some other 'cure' i can look at. This leaves with only two walls, east and west , to place my bed head. *** at this point *** , the analysis recommends east as the best sleeping direction; but according to the above picture links, this is not good as the door opens directly to the bed , and also the bad sha chi from the protruding corner of the built in wardrobe. I would like to find a FS balance, in this situation which would have priority, the personal analysis direction or the shapes and forms recommendations? *** also side question. my mom is strongly religious buddhist and maybe taoist and confucious and much of the home is almost resembles a temple display of some type. she has 2 buddha statues and incence pot, 2 huge buddha posters, 2 sets of the Fu Lu Shu(shou) dieties, and about 3 laughing buddha's and (in mandarin) the "TiShiYe" alter which can only be placed on the ground. I have researched some interesting and perhaps quality chinese language FS sites relating to this aspect, but their language level is beyond my language training. can you offer some insight about having so many deities in the home and some placement locations for them. I know this is a lengthy post and I hope you take interest in replying to my questions and that it might answer questions which others have yet not asked specifically in this post. thank you kindly Scott
  5. Dear teachers, I have a question in doing some basic feng shui assessments relating to 2 floors town-house homes. with the shapes and forms method, what approaches and perspectives and considerations should be done. Aside note, I understand traditional fengshui has many various branches/schools. Am I correct if buddhist and taoist temples are designed and constructed according to their own 'fengshui' methods or there is some precedence?
  6. hello Robert and Cecil, i would like to offer compliments. you have a great web site offering excellent content. its focused and comprehensive and distinguished in the field. in the english speaking world, your services are one of the best i have seen. I understand you are offering a commercial service, concurrently you also make available informative services to a very large audience, which is excellent. I feel saddened that there are those western modern stylists who claim to practice fengshui. browsing the online sites of these con-artists, they are mere fronts for hawking goods at crazy prices. i am only curious of how to drive these bad elements out, as they are degrading a very well practiced tradition and cultural asset. best regards, scott
