  1. Dear Master,

In many fengshui books, there is always mention of
    pillars and its problems.

But how do we define pillar? On the left of attached
photo is how my office building looks externally.
I have marked an arrow pointing at something which
    looks like a pillar.

The right photo shows what is behind the circled
portion of the left photo. This is essentially a
corridor and my office main door is facing the said
wall (the red arrow points to my main door).

Hence is it harmful or harmless that my office main
door is facing this piece of wall? Especially if it
seems to darken my stretch of corridor?

    Please advise, thank you.

    Regards,
    Sean

To analyse the kua number without converting to the chinese calendar would be wrong. This means that say if you are born on 1 Jan 1966, your lunar is actually 10 day 12 month 1965. So your kua number must be based on 1965 and not 1966.

    Dear Master,

    Thanks for your kind advice.

Regarding the Kua number, it seems similar
    to the Western numerology. E.g. 1966 = 1+9+6+6.
Shouldn't we be calculating based on some Chinese
    year figure?

    Thank you.

  3. Dear Master,

Based on the East/West group theory, an East group
    person's favourable direction is N, E, SE and S. Let's
talk about the North direction, how precise must this
North be? Will 340degNNW be considered as North?

And will 20degNNE be considered as N or NE?
Because if it is NE, then it will not be favourable to
    him (east person).

Secondly, I was wondering why do we use English
calendar birth year to calculate the Kua number?
I thought Fengshui is originally from China??

    Thanks.

  4. Dear Master,

I did an analysis in your website and discover
I'm a Weak Yang Wood. Although I understand
the part about Weak and Strong, but I am kind
of confused with the Yang & Yin part.

Eg. what is difference between Weak Yang Wood
    vs Weak Yin Wood?

Read that a Weak Wood should find a spouse
that is Water or Wood. Does it mean I should
find a spouse of Strong (Yang or Yin?) Water or
a Strong (Yang or Yin?) Wood?

Is a Weak (Yang or Yin?) Water or a Weak
(Yang or Yin?) Wood just as good??

So confused, please advise. Thank you.

  5. Dear Master,

We rented a big office but intend to partition it so we can
    sublet it out.

There will be company A (main tenant) and B (sub-tenant).
If you look at our office plan layout 1, company A is taking a
L-shaped space, whereas B is taking a rectangular space.
However, both spaces are linked to a common pantry area
    and 2 toilets.

The reasons why A is taking the L-shaped space is because:
    1. The main door is facing his auspicious direction, hence
cannot take the other space which is rectangular.
    2. We want to access the toilet.

Will you advise us to give up the toilets and make everything
rectangular? Actually, there are public toilets in the building
but it is kind of far.

Else, how could we cure the bad fengshui usually associated
    with L-shaped or cleaver design?

    Please advise, many thanks.

    Regards,
    Sean

  6. Dear Master,

I recently rented out my condo to an European single expat lady. Then weird things start to happen. The fridge had a mini explosion within 5 days of delivery. The washing machine also broke down within 10 days of delivery. So unlucky!!!

I seemed to have the impression that our birthdates/BaZi crash.
Could this be possible? What can I do about such things? I mean
since I can't possibly throw out my tenant, could I use some fengshui cures?? Thanks.

    Regards,
    Sean

  7. Dear Master,
Using your online tool, I discover I am a Weak Wood.
    Favourable element: Water
    Favourable colour: blue/black/gray
    Unfavourable element: Metal
    Unfavourable colour: white/gold
I would like to rear some fishes.
May I know what type of fishes can I rear?
Considering goldfish (metal element) is unfavourable?
I also read that the best combination for feng shui purpose
is 7 goldfish and 1 black goldfish. If my tank is very small, can I just rear 3 fishes? Auspicious?
Please advise. Thank you so much.

    Sean

  8. Dear Master,
Should we take the TOP (temporary occupation permit)
date as the date a property is being constructed?
Or shall we take the date the building blocks are being
    erected in the condo project?
Eg. I can see my condo blocks already erected, but the
TOP date will be late 2004 or early 2005. Our period is
changing from Period 7 to 8 in early 2004. So which period
    is my condo in??
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Sean

  9. Dear Master,
Thank you for the wonderful website. I've some questions
which I hope you can help.
Q1) May I know if the Eight Aspirations (Compass) method is
the same as BTB method? Both seem to use the same 8 sectors
convention (i.e. Fame, Career, Knowledge, etc) except the BTB
aligns Career sector to the front door.
Q2) Assume I am using Eight Aspirations (Compass) method,
do I divide each sector like a pie/cake, or do I divide them
into equal squares/rectangles (Luo Shu squares)? Which is
the correct way of dividing the areas/sectors?
Q3) You mentioned Eight House method is a more accurate
method. May I ask what can be done if me and my spouse are
East-group persons (i.e. we share the same set of inauspicious
areas), whereas our HDB unit is a West-group one, and worst,
our Master bedroom is in the Six-Killings (Liu-Sha) area.
We can't possibly be shifting house nor tearing
    down our Master bedroom??
Q4) Again assume I am using Eight House method, do I divide
the areas into separate pies or into squares? [as per Q2]
    Please advise, thank you.
    Regards,
    Sean
