  1. Dear Master Lee, Thank you very much for your quick response. Noted on the odd number of lights for the bedroom. Will implement it. -eg
  2. Dear Master Lee, I'm currently building my home and now in the process of laying out the ceiling for the bedrooms. I would like my ceilings to be more than just flat but to have some designs that forms recessed ceilings, false beams, cove effects --all using gypsum boards. Is having an octagon design about at the center of the bedroom or dining room appropriate? I had one made already for the dining room (picture attached). Now would like to knowif it is appropriate todo the same design in a bedroom, centered where bed is located. I'm thinking of a recessed octagon shape or (opposite version) a dropped octagon ceiling with cove effect on all eight sides. Thanks.
  3. Dear Mr. Lee, Thank you very much for your clarification and advice. I have learned a lot from your site andused it heavily to guide meduring the planning stage of my house. Regards, Earl
  4. Hi Mr. Lee, A clarification on the steps counting after the landing, do you consider the landing the immediate wide space after the contiguous steps or is the landing considered thelast leveltill you reach themain floor? When I asked my architech to come up with 10-steps for the main entrance, he counted 9 from sidewalk to porch then the 10th step from porch to foyer (same level as main house). At the back of the house, I required 5 steps. The architech counted 3 steps from driveway to garden, after a 7 meter walk, +1 stepfrom garden to terrace, then +1 step from terrace to ground floor, a total of 5. Are the computations correct? Or do we justcount the contiguous steps of the stairs? I'm attaching the floor plan for your reference. Thank you in advanced. -Earl
