  1. Dear Cecil & Robert, Thanks for the clarification on which areas not to do renovations in for this year. This leads to a few more questions about plans I had for the near future and what "renovations" entails. #1. I had planned to put closet doors on my closet which is located in the east. Would hanging tapestries be a better idea to cover the closet? #2. Would re-painting rooms in the E, S, SW, N, and NW be regarded as "renovation or activity"? #3. My laundry room floor is rotted in the SW. I had planned to replace the rotted plywood and lay new flooring. Is this advisable? #4. Also in the SW, I wanted to add a screen door to be able to open the door in the summer. Advisable? and #5. In our office (in the East), our desk is built onto the wall. When we work, we face the East and, as I have heard it is unwise to directly face the Grand Duke, I had planned to have the desk moved onto the other possible wall; facing North (but still in the East sector). This would entail unscrewing the existing desk and using screws to attach the new desk to the North facing wall. Sorry for this long list of questions; but I value your comments and opinions. thanks, julie
  2. Moderator's Note: The reply to this is under " More Grand Duke Questions" Hi. I see there's questions about construction in the East. My question is: Would there be any ill effects from tearing out flower beds in the W and SW, and building a raised bed in the NE this year? The earth *would* be disturbed by putting in rebar to hold the timbers down in the NE and taking out rebar in the W and SW. If there is the possibility of ill effects, it would definitely be worth waiting until next year. Your input is very much appreciated. Thanks, julie
  3. Hello :) Many thanks for posting such valuable information in this forum! My question regards having the stove next to the refrigerator. I recently moved the fridge to a better location away from the stove and my husband doesn't like it at all. He has offered to help me re-do and make the necessary changes to the house for better feng shui -IF- I move the fridge back to where it was. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated. Also, if the stove IS next to the fridge; is there any cure for that? example: placing a wood wall exactly between the two? Thanks. julie
  4. Hello! :) Thanks so much for your great site! It's enabled me to easily calculate our lines on the 8 house theory. I do have a Feng Shui problem though. My front door is exactly on my husband's death line which is my irritation line. The back door is on MY death line and my husbands irritation line. A possibility is to move our door to the Kitchen area which would be my disaster line and my husbands spook line. My question is: Would this be a better area to enter through? Or, would keeping the current door in our living room brightly lit and closed be better? I'm confused. Thanks for any help. julie
