Chinese believe that the gates of hell is opened up during the Lunar 7th Month and ghosts are allowed to wonder on the earth. To ward of bad luck, this is an inauspicious month for marriage, moving house, travelling etc... I took a few pictures of a group of taxi drivers celebrating the Chinese 7th month Hungry Ghost Festival. In 1999, the 7th month started on 11 August and ends on 9th September 1999

Where possible, a triangle (fiber-glass base) of a water feature is also a No, No! Firstly, it is pointed at three sides and some of the points can be considered as a poison arrow. Secondly, triangle represents the fire element. For a water position; if we want to introduce "fire element" the next best thing is "a light".

Dear Wasis, I bought it locally in Singapore for around approximately US$14/-. Personally, I find the 6-hollow-rod brass wind chime too heavy. And it can only make a sound in very windy conditions. Try to go for the more common 6-hollow-rod alluminum rods with the `wooden' supporting frame and clinger. This type of wind chime(s) makes the most sound. And would be more effective. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The Infiniti is a freehold condominium that achieved its Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) earlier this year (2009). The site is shaped like one side of a Boeing 747 wing or resembles the elongated, unnatural form of a shark's fin, to some extent. This development consists of a total of 8 blocks, with stacks oriented towards either Flying Star NE 1 or SW 1. The compass degree margin is relatively narrow between the line of emptiness, specifically between NE 1-NE 2 or SW 1-SW 2. Fortunately, it can be classified as either NE 1 or SW 1. It is unfortunate that although NE 1 technically possesses favorable Flying Star Feng Shui, this side of the stacks faces th…

This is a good design as there is minimal support pillars for each of the car porch in this twin semi-detached homes. The roofs are slightly slanted to allow for active water-flow during a downpour. Thus driving into and opening car doors is a piece of cake. Overall a good designWITHOUT the need for those wires that dangle and support the roof anchored to the wall.

Waterway Cascadia Sales Brochure: Site Plan and Floor Plans waterway-cascadia.pdf 1. HDB Waterway Cascadia Just T.O.P. 2. In my opinion, Punggol is like a mini-Singapore island. 2.1. This is because bulk of Punggol stretches from the East e.g. fringes like FLO Residences / Waterwoods / HDB Sundial. 2.2. Frankly, I personally prefer this stretch i.e. the "land of the rising sun". And we find Katong and Tanjong Katong. 2.3. With the correct unit; one typically enjoys the morning sun. 3. HDB Waterway Cascadia including HDB Punggol Opal, Topaz are at the western most part of Punggol and the division is that of the Sungei Punggol ... 3.…

Taman Jurong was in the 1960's to 1980's The Central hub of Jurong. Then, the major road leading towards Jurong was Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim. At that time, all the amenities were located there. Such as Jurong Drive-in cinema; Ice skating rink; and the various eateries to cater for most of the needs of the near-by factories and homes at familiar names like Kang Ching, Tah Ching, Yuan Ching Road. In the 1990's when "Jurong" Shifted towards Boon Lay and encroaching towards PIE and KJE; This is no longer The Central it once was. As the garvity shifted towards Boon Lay MRT. Shaw Towers, Golden mile complex, People's Park complex and Katong Shopping Centre all these four buildings share one thing in common: the buildings were designed in the style of "brutalist architectural style". Majority of these buildings were completed in the early 1970's. The characteristics are striking vertical lines and circular pot-holes + cold concrete exterior finish. A term associated with the French which derived to today’s description as “brutalist” meaning bare concrete external structures. However in recent times, the building Managements of many of these shopping centres decided to give the exterior of the buildings a coat of paint: Gilden …
