This flowering plant since 1960's is one of the most popular decorative plants during Chinese New Year. It's plume of flowerscomes in two vibrant colours: Rich Chilli Red and Sweet (Sunflower) Yellow colour. It belongs to the Amaranthaceae family of plants and it is commonly called : Plume Celosia. Again; during Chinese New Year; the Chinese like auspicious red and yellow comes as bright as the season of spring. As Chinese New Year is also known as the Festival of Spring - celebration.

Jade Belts Jade belt is an important part of the ceremonial attire of the emperors and empresses of the Ming Dynasty. Common officials were not allowed to wear jade belts. These jade belts were unearthed in Ding Ling. Both belts were made of high quality jade: One belt is of green jade. While the other belt is of cream jade. Most likely the material holding all the jadge pieces on each of the belt has disintegrated after so many years.

1. Characteristics of charms (in this case for protection): Often they are "written" on yellow paper or on yellow coloured cloths. 2. In this photo; the charm is faded so cannot clearly see the yellow background. 3. For this charm, the paper charm is often written in RED colour. Although black wordings may be used. I discovered this charm at a condominiumaround Lorong Sarinaarea.
