Date: 9 January 2001 Place: Hotel New Otani Singapore 1. We caught up with one of our past students: Mr Madan L. Seda who was on a holiday in Singapore with his wife. 2. Mr Madan is a Feng Shui Consultant in London, UK. He can be reached at http://www.Fengshui2000.co.uk 3. I found Mr Madan, to be very keen in his quest to find out more to keep himself updated with Feng Shui and other divinity practises. If you are in London or around London and need help, do contact him. I am sure, he will do his utmost best to help you. 4. Attached picture: From Left to Right: Robert Lee, Cecil Lee and Mr Madan (Picture available in the forum - not mailing list) We wish Mr & Mrs M…

This picture was taken today (6 June 2000) of the Fortredale. On this side of the building (there are two sides), at the higher floors it shows only one unit being occupied. In a city like Singapore, where apartments are snapped up the moment they are `sold', there seems to be few take up (actually staying) in these apartments. Earlier, I mentioned that the windows of this apartment are not conducive for a humid and hot city like Singapore. In fact, most Singaporeans have also, I believe found it not `practical' to stay in. In my opinion, the curtains in the apartment shown, looks `make-shift', and (unfortunately) reminds one of a refugee camp. This recent picture (Plea…

This office which is directly `hit' by a `T-junction' where vehicles, move towards it has been in bad shape. Please wait loading picture (100k)... The building to the right is not affected as usually cars are parked on that side of the road. Both buildings to the left and right of this building looks lovely but not for this one. Where the roof is also in disrepair. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

This water fountain is technically based on the Five Elements concept: circular ball represents metal tall structure represents wood made of granite = earth element add water and also a light, becomes a full five elements concept. BUT, this design is "hell of an ugly" in today's modern times... It may look cool in the 1980's but.. rather "ancient" today!

Uptown @ Farrer @ Perumal Road by Low Keng Huat (Singapore) is a mixed-development . Two blocks of 21 storey high residential in total 116 units. Plus one block that is 16 storey's high service apartments with an additional 240 units. The sky terrace for this development is at the 4th storey. The commercial shops are at ground floor. Oops... this development is not pretty close to Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple. In fact, it is just a stone's throw ... the temple is this development's NEXT door neighbour! In the early years especially in the 1966's map: New World (Amusement) Park was just five (5) O'clock or SE of Uptown @ Farrer. The othe…

Taman Jurong was in the 1960's to 1980's The Central hub of Jurong. Then, the major road leading towards Jurong was Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim. At that time, all the amenities were located there. Such as Jurong Drive-in cinema; Ice skating rink; and the various eateries to cater for most of the needs of the near-by factories and homes at familiar names like Kang Ching, Tah Ching, Yuan Ching Road. In the 1990's when "Jurong" Shifted towards Boon Lay and encroaching towards PIE and KJE; This is no longer The Central it once was. As the garvity shifted towards Boon Lay MRT. Which is today considered as The Central part of Jurong …

Midtown Residences @ Hougang with mix of residences and shops - Which units are lucky today?

Midtown Residences by Oxley-Lian Beng Pte Ltd T.O.P. in 2016 The Midtown complex, featuring a combination of residences and shops, appears to be experiencing the same challenges as the oversaturation caused by the rapid increase of malls in Singapore. However, this development is not lacking in appealing shapes and forms; The issue primarily lies in its inconvenient location on the outskirts of a small Hougang estate. Consider this perspective: a representative from a local bank once mentioned to me that when an ATM malfunctions, customers often express that even a 200-meter walk to the nearest machine feels excessive... As long as the rental pr…

It is typical of many if not all Chinese restaurants to use red for their main entrance. This restaurant uses a " Fan " shaped signboard. In Mandarin the phonetic sound of a Fan is " shan " represents good. At the same time, many Chinese scholars or officials used to carry fans and even fans were frequently used by Chinese Immortals. Here, fan is considered an auspicious symbol as it is said to also help drive away evil.
