Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, there is not much one can do if the `Eight House' chart is unsuitable for a person. Unless, one moves out of the room or find a new house -- assuming a worst case senario. 2. But more importantly, no matter how, the bedroom should always (top-priority) conform to good Shapes and Form Feng Shui. I have given many examples of this in previous messages. 3. For example, where possible, the bed should not rest on the same wall as the bedroom door. Where possible, it should be on the opposite wall as the bedroom door. 4. Dear Vera, 1. If possible (top priority) the staircase should never be facing the main entrance door. This is considered inauspicious. 2. And should be cured if it is an existing house. 3. A staircase can still face the dining room. This is a better option. 4. Where possible avoid having a circular staircase as this is not a good configuration. 5. Dear Carlos, 1. Numerology can be highly subjective. 2. And it should preferably not be used in most instances. This is because even in Chinese Numeroloy, the interpretation can be pretty diverse. 3. Dear Nina, In my opinion, I would classify this type of question into two categories:- 1. Potential Sha Qi or poison arrow and/or 2. Commonsense approach. Under Para 1, above, a tree may become a poison arrow if it ends up with a thin tall tree trunk. And if one stands at the window (even) of a low rise house; should this thin trunk (or pole like) object slice thru the window, it then becomes a potential Sha Qi or poison arrows. Dear Allison, 1. Recently, I posted a painting with double 9 fishes. 2. For example, if one look closely at that particular painting, 2 x 9 set of fishes are facing each other. " 9 " represents or sounds like longevity. And thus is considered an auspicious number. 3. Yes, Chinese lanterns: some which you had mentioned either had four sides or there are four round lanterns X 2 on each side is equally acceptable. The key ingredient of Feng Shui is based on the Five Elements Concept. There is really not much one can do. Dear Anon, Thank you for drawing up the illustration. From what I can see, it is good that there is quite some distance between bedroom 1 and master bedroom. And from the sketch, it also looks like the master bedroom door is not directly aligned with bedroom 1 door. This is good. In my opinion, although, bedroom 1, 2 (with bathroom) and master bedroom are in the same corridor, because of the adequate space between e.g. bedroom 1 and masterbedroom and bedroom 1 and 2 doors also pose not much a threat here. Dear Anon, Under the Eight House or East/West 4 persons concept, priority should (where ever possible) be given to sleeping in a good sector. And only after this, then it is nice to have one sleeping in a good direction. Since, most of us have already moved in or impossible to change rooms etc.. there is not much more than what one can do or `squeeze' out this concept. Dear Anon, In my opinion, this is considered a minor renovation and from my personal experience; I feel that (or strongly feel) that there is no change in the period of the house. Especially more so, if the house was built under Period 7 i.e. 1984 to 2003. And during this period, if a house was built anytime after 1984, it does not matter if renovation has been carried out many times from 1984 to 2002. The house will always remain a Period 7 house. Dear Anon, 1. Usually, there is no impact on your home especially if it is an ancient or old site. 2. So long as it is not a location of mass masacare or tragedy; there is relative of no concern. 3. On the safe side, if your building is e.g. red brickwalls, this is considered most yang and is one of the `safeguards'. Dear Stacey, 1. What you are looking at is only based on `micro' Feng Shui. Although it is nice to get micro Feng Shui right, it is just part of holistic Feng Shui. (External environment is equally important). 2. Usually, in micro Feng Shui, the entire house Feng Shui is looked at. Not just whether the main door is facing southeast or southwest. Do also look at intangile force facing the bedroom area. 3. Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, where the kitchen door face the front door, it is good not to expose cutlery e.g. forks or knifes (if there is a kitchen table top) facing the door. Otherwise, there is not much one can do here. A stove can still face the refrigerator. However, hopefully, this is not the north part of the house or the kitchen is not at the north compass direction. Where, fire element is quite weak. Overall, such a senario you mentioned: cannot be undone unless there is a renovation involved i.e. there is no `magic' involved unless there is physical renovations involved here.
