Dear Diana, In my opinion, you may have to treat it more as a decorative item. Alternatively, if it is a solid object, can be used to activate the mountain star (provided it is found) under the Flying Star Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Diana, In my opinion, most of us, would face the same sort of problems. Especially if a house has not being looked into, prior to the purchase. Sometimes, even if we activately seek to find a good house, eventually, the bedroom may not be suitable. Or, one of the partners is either a East or West group persons. From the many cases, I personally feel that, no matter how, one should get the Shapes and Forms correct in the first instance. The overriding consideration is based on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And once this is good both external and internal, it is better than trying to fit oneself in a `Eight House' dilemma. So far, there is no basis (from what I know)…

Hi! Cecil,Thanks for your reply.I hope I have put my questions clearly this time. The room is located East and I draw a flying star chart period 7 main door facing S2 172.5 to 187.5 and the star in the East section, are 5 base star and 5 Mountain 9 Facing Star. ( I think?) The Bread winner's Kua is 8. and he sleeps in a North room. Please could you tel me what should I do for the room in the East? The person in that room has Kua 7. My main worry is that the room in the East doesn't have good stars. Also one more question how do you find out what is a good Mt & water star and what is bad. Thanks, Regards.

Dear Lina, In Feng Shui, it is easier done if this is a landed property i.e. placing a lamp at a corner of the missing area or to do landscaping. Where, a top view would show the missing corner being `landscaped' with e.g. potted plants or a grass field covering it. But in an apartment, the two most common ways are:- 1. If it is possible, one side of the missing corner can be placed with a mirror. But do take note the conditions for placement of the mirror:- - If this is the bedroom location, it is best not to have the mirror reflect towards the bed. - Never use two `split' pieces of mirror. - An alternative (some FS practitioners) suggest is to place a wooden wind chime…

Dear Matthew, 1. I would assume that your parents may not want to spent too much money in the improvement of the basement. 2. Basically, you can go down to using the Yin and Yang concept as a starting point. 3. Here, you may have to ask yourself the question: "Do I sleep and work at the basement. Or both". 4. Since this is the basement, assuming that there is minimal light, it is best to have light coloured walls (to brighten up) the basement. 5. More yin suggests, more rest. But if you need to study or do work at the basement, then, have a balance of both yin and yang. 6. If there is natural light coming into the basement, do take advantage of this. 7. More importantly, …

A Dreamcatcher is the Native American way to guard dreams. It gathers bad dreams during the nightime hours to be cleared away the next morning at sunrise. It is usually placed in the bedroom above your bed. Most people use it n childrens rooms to protect them from bad dreams during the night. As for having a small one in the car, it may have to do with dreams involving a car accident that they don't wat to have anymore or we just think it looks neat up their by the mirror.

dear Cecil, according to Pillars of Destiny report, Luck Pillar 4, the period Big Luck/Seasonal Luck is auscicious for me as weak water; while the heavenly stem final analysis states that it is Auspicious Period, the earthly branch states it's average. i've been working on the same job (Contracts Officer) for the past 6 years and a half and all my boss including executive management are convinced of my efficiency in work in fact they rate me as 'excellent'. despite this appreciation, i am not getting any promotion. attached is a layout of my work place within our office. notice the huge pillar (from ceiling to floor) situated right behind my chair. the outline is my L-sha…

Dear Diana, In my opinion, there is no evidence or detailed studies done on the situation faced by you. Although, it is not good to have such a hole especially if it collects stagnant water (for a few days). As mentioned, frankly, there is not much documented cases of bad feng shui relating to your situation. If one's current situation is not that good and in the immediate future, you do not intend to build a pool, it is best to see if it can be leveled. This is part of the process of trying to fix `leaks' if you have already done all you can within the home premises. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, It is best to find out where is the frontage of your house, first. In some homes, although the main door can be at one side of the house; but in some instances, you may have the `back' of the house as your `frontage'. For example, there are homes facing the sea. In such a situation; one may have a road leading to the main door. But, all the view is at the `back' or frontage of the house. If one's home is of this situation, then, there is no issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nathalie, In Feng Shui, there are two concepts:- 1. study facing a good direction. You can use the free Feng Shui report to look at it. However, caution is that it is always better to have the study table position based Good Shapes and Forms than (para 1 i.e. nice to have). For example, if the best direction is to place the study table next to the bedroom door; this may be distracting to your eldest son even if the direction is good! 2. Another traditional idea is that if it window of the bedroom open out and to the right (a distance away); there is a tall e.g. tower, this signifies, scholaristic achievement. Many FS practitioners encourage the placement of a small f…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, your cornice do not pose poison arrow as it is usually made of gpysum board. The height from the ceiling to the ground is quite a distance away. They are multiple (3) and long as opposed to a pointed edge. I personally feel that there is no issue in the type of cornice mentioned. Although the preference is for a simpler design. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned, I also checked with some shops and according to the proprietor(s), next year's tong su (Tung Shu) is currently not available yet. The estimated time of arrival in Singapore is next month i.e. in the Chinese 7th month. In my opinion, you should not have a problem getting a copy after 9 August 2002. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please note that these are general statements. But it does not necessarily mean that it may apply to all units in the vicinity. Your new set of question simply is too general since there are too many variations in Housing board flat layouts and locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

i am new to this site so i hope this is right...i have applied the 8 mansion method to my house. our sleeping positions are all wrong but the house isn't set up for us to really change that. my husband's kua # is 5, mine is 9 and my son's is 4. if you know this method we are all over the place. the master bedroom is in the the ne and east sector and my son is in east and center sectors. i am supposedly sleeping in my death bed. i would like to change this for obvious reasons. is there advice that can help me with ideas as to how to get rid of the elements in the rooms without putting boards over windows. them i could try to reposition everyone. thanks so much, kathy

Dear Debasis, In my opinion, the figurine should be considered more as a decorative piece. Frankly, there is nothing magical with the piece. Personally, I have such a piece (as shown) attached. I personally liked it because, it was made in the early 1930's. It is nice to look at because of his (buddha's) lovely smile and nice to see kids climbing (taking advantage) of him:) As mentioned, we should treat these pieces as interior art pieces. But, if one have such pieces, it is best not to let them face into bedrooms, on the same wall as toilet etc... Otherwise, enjoy! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Barbara, In my opinion, under Feng Shui, `L-shaped' houses are not unlucky. More importantly, if one is trying to audit or access an `L-shaped' home, then, one has to try to find the centrepoint as well as one can further sub-divide the house into two `symbolic' rectangles to access the home. Therefore, rest assured that an `L-shaped' home does not necessarily mean inauspiciousness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- In my opinion, this has to do more with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. Perhaps, I need to side track abit:- Overall, the most popular `bird' is the mystical bird i.e. Phoenix. In Chinese culture, a wedding card will inevitably have a phoenix (representing) female and dragon (male) symbol representing this union of couples. The other more popular symbolic birds are: the egale, pheasant, swallow, crane and magpie. Now coming to `birds'. Sorry, if sound crude but the Mandarin worn for bird or `niao' is `penis'. (Once again, apologies - but this is true!) There was a time when Nissan cars came up with a model called " Blue Bird ". Here, many Chin…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- - In my opinion, in general, it is best if one can not to purchase the house. - Perhaps, you can also ask the existing owner what is the rationale for them selling the unit. 1.What is your view on the effect of the station & the lane and the unit??s overall feng shui and it??s cure? Frankly, it is NOT practical to `cure' such a Yang effect coming from the Fire station. Not practical because, one has to literally close the curtains or close the main door most of the time. 2. Will it benefits a breadwinner of weak earth element perhaps needing more fire? This is to do more with which direction the main door is facing and whether it mat…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- If you have seen the various examples i.e. not only Meyer but references to other `Receive positions' under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/home-househunting.htm You will notice that the one primary concept of Shapes and Forms is to `Receive'. However, the fundamental thing is that NOT ALL SITES are the same. The above gives a CLUE as to what to look out for in ADDITION to other Shapes and Form Feng Shui. It would be silly if one based on my suggestion to buy this type of house and happen that the house is on top of a badly eroded hill. Or any other unfavourable Shapes and Forms. As mentioned above, "It depen…
