Dear Marko, Frankly, I was thinking very hard about your senario. Since it is a shared wall and not a house or frontage facing each other; in my opinion, there is not much one can do here. A Metal `cure' is used usually, if there is an imbalance e.g. on the shared wall of your bedroom. Otherwise, it is not normally used. As for Feng Shui, it is correct that one should avoid placement of plants or water fountain in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hoa Luong, Thanks for your many clarifications. Yes, overall, red is considered an auspicious colour. From your information, I personally feel that it is OK for you to continue with the red painted frontage doors of your convenience store. And this should not have any adverse contrast with the `water' grey colour. Overall, red is indeed an auspicious colour for business. Under the grand duke theory, it is more important to: avoid touching or disturbing the grand duke e.g. at South (this year - begining 12 February 2002). 3. Dear Constantine, 1. Yes, from my personal experience with clients having problems with fish tank at the centre-point of the house. This has been mentioned in several of the past forum messages i.e. relating to health problems. 2. In my opinion, your family members are correct to advise you to remove the fish tank at the balcony. Dear Sheila, In my opinion, luck corners or `sector' Feng Shui or paying homage to corners are equally "non-existent' or unreliable / undependable situations. Dear Marko, 1. One would rarely if ever find Chinese lanterns with symbols of `autumn' or `winter' as symbollically these are not suitable on Red Chinese Lanterns. 2. In fact, symbolism is important in Feng Shui and you can in-fact, use the globe Chinese lanterns (with spring and summer) all year round. And change them when their colour fade-out or their material worn out. Furthermore, red is considered an auspicious colour and can be used all-round the year. Dear Anthi, It is best to grow plants in a garden. In my opinion, for plants grown e.g. on the balcony, or interior of the house e.g. in an apartment/flat it would depend on the type of indoor plant. Not all outdoor or plants that require sunlight can be grown in the house. It would therefore be nice if one has an area in the flat or apartment for natural sunlight to flow and open space especially the balcony area where rain water can at times `splash' on them. For indoors, in my opinion, planting plants can be quite tedious if there is not enough sunligh. And one may often need to bring them out to sun. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathleen, Yes, too much light e.g. from glass walls have a negative effect. As it creates too much `Yang energy'. Unlike normal walls that can absord some of the `yang energy'; too much glass relects and bounce light causing an unbalanced effect. Ideally, renovation should be done to correct this. If this is not possible, then plants can be used to counter or absorb some of it. But if the panels of glass covers a large area, more plants may be needed (and this may not be feasible). Dear Anon, Based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is best to place the fountain either within or at the balcony area (of the frontage). In Flying Star Feng Shui, we usually use it to locate the water stars e.g. #1's + #7's. However, if we are not using Flying Star but basing more on `intuition' then: 1. Dear Patricia, If you have a bed between the bedroom door and the bedroom, you can place a side table with a table lamp. The table lamp and the side table will be symbolic of a partition between the two. Other than this, a screen can be used. Dear Anil, In my opinion, what you described is minor or really not much of an issue as it is felt that the movement of your personal vehicle is at low speed and unlike on a road. And would normally not cause Sha qi. Unless (I believe this is quite remote) that particular sector of the bedroom has a flying star combination of #2 with #3 (which would require `stillness' or `quietness' at that sector.
