Although circle designs represent the metal element; but under symbolism in Feng Shui, a circle is symbolic of a ships port-hole: in bad weather, and if pot-holes are not closed, the ship may inadvertently take in too much water and ... sink!

Always try to "interpret" paintings or posters hung especially in the bedroom or livin room. Symbolism in Feng Shui is at "work" in such a situation. If truly in doubt, do not hang it!

Dear Anon, Usually, the main concern is if the toilet bowl `looks out' of the toilet door (or can be seen when the toilet door is opened). In commonsense approach to Feng Shui, this does not look `appealing'. If the toilet bowl faces the staircase, then, it is best to close the door. Otherwise, if the toilet door is open, and what one sees is a pathway into the toilet or the sink, then this is not that bad (visually). Warmest Regards, Cecil
