  1. I'm sorry, but I do not understand your answer and how it relates to my situation. Please allow me to explain my question further....perhaps my original question was misunderstood. I have an entrance at my kitchen/dining room. This is not the main/facing entrance (Main/facing entrance is in the west). This is in a single family house, not an apartment nor is it in a building with other residences. The side of the house where this door is located is the South side of the house, but because of the particular layout of the grid of this house, where that door lands on the grid is in the SW sector. So I was wondering if the entrance is considered to be a SW or South entrance. Hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you.
  2. If an entrance is on the South side of a house but is also in the SW quadrant of the home, is it considered to be a South or Southwest entrance? Thank you.
  3. What is Huo Hai? I have been told have this at my front door entrance in the west sector. Thank you. O. Sullivan
  4. What is the best color to paint a home office, where much time is spent, that is located in the SE sector? Since wood is the element for that direction, would green be the best color or blue (wood needs water)? If red is used would that affect finances adversely? Thank you. Best wishes, O. Sullivan
  5. Oh, my head is spinning! How easy for you and hard for me (with my western brain) to understand. Please bear with me....so - or + does not indicate weak or strong rather yin or yang, correct? If this is so, then how it is determined whether a person is weak or strong whatever? Would it be the over abundance or lack of a particular element in the total ba zi? This is very interesting. Thank you!
  6. Quote: Robert Lee wrote: That is generally the case. Weak element person tends to be at a disadvantage because he will need to first be strong before you can even benefit from your wealth element Why would you not try to enhance the weak element? I ask this after looking at my own heavenly and earthly branches provided in this website. I have weak earth in heavenly hour and day as well as in earthly hour yet the unfavorable colors and elements listed for me are yellow and gold. Is this prehaps because enhancing weak earth would weaken the strong things in my branches (Kan water, heavenly month = +wood, heavenly yr = +metal, earthly month = +metal and earthly yr =+wood)?I'm trying to see how this all relates to the productive, destructive and reductive cycles. Thank you.
  7. Thank you, Mr. Lee. Quote: This will really depend on whether how much of metal and water element they have in their chart. I'm not sure how to ask this next question.....where are the other elements in the chart? In the example given, the year born is Water, the hour is Strong Metal. Where do the other elements come from? Also, am I correct that a weak element is actually more unfavorable and in need of assistance than a strong element? Thank you.
  8. Hello. If someone was born in a Water year and at a time of day that is Strong Metal, is the Strong Metal considered "bad"? What happens if they wear gold colored clothingor drive agold colored car versus wear black clothes or drive a black car? Thank you. Oliv
  9. Sir: I have several related questions: (1) When does the Chinese month of September begin and end? (2) For aKan person, living in a Zhen house (280 degress facing), built in 2001and has 3M bad wood, 7W bad metal, 6A good metal, 3 Month bad wood to avoid lawsuits in September would the remedy be metal, and fire in October when 2 bad earth visits? (3) The 7-3 combination is also in the SW for the month of September. Am I correct that the remedy for that month would be fire? (4) Ever since we moved into this house in 2002 we have hadmanylawsuits or arguments with people. One argument has been going on the entire time we have been here. Is there anything I can do to stop this once and for all? I believe the problem is in the west sector where the 3M/7W is. I have a red rug at the entrance (it is a very small area with little room for remedies) but obviously this is not working. We rarely use this entrance, using instead the South entrance. The two most frequently used rooms, the office (first floor) and bedroom (second floor) are both in the SE sector. The kitchen is in the SW and when at the stove I face toward the South. I am very tired of constantly fighting and just want to live in peace. Thank you for any help you can give. Oliv Sullivan
  10. Dear Sirs: Thank you so much for supplying a monthly Flying Star chart. It really helps! I have noticed that the monthly number for each direction is not different for September than it was for August. Why is that? Thank you. Oliv Sullivan
  11. I was just reviewing the Flying Star Report available on this website and see that for the month of August, 6 (good metal) is visiting the South, my example in the previous post. Could it be that this is actually the element/number that would remedy the 1-5-8 combination, at least for this month? My thought process is that the visiting 6 (good metal) would hold back the 5 (bad earth). Am I on the right track?
  12. How do you handle a situation where a direction has a favorable mountain number, but the water and annual number's elementare the same but one is favorable and the other is unfavorable? Example: South...1(good water) 5(bad earth) and the annual number is 8(good earth). How do you enhance the 8 without also strengthening the5?Thank you.
  13. Quote: There is also another way is use your Kua number ie 9, then you add up the number 208 = 2 + 0 +8 = 10 = 1+0 = 1 so if this is the same as your Kua number it is auspicious for you. Question: If someone's house number is, as an example, 90 and their Kua number is 1, is there any benefit to penciling in a 1 to make the house number appear as if it is 190 or 901 (which would add up to a 1) even though it is really not? Thank you. Oliv
  14. I understand that it is not a good year to do "major" renovations in the NE this year. Does closing in a porch and turning it into a sunroom qualify as a renovation? It would involve installing windows, flooring, and moving an exterior door.Should a deck also be built in this same direction this year? Thank you. O. Sullivan
  15. Dear Masters Lee, Please forgive me for my constant questions about the same subject, but I am still confused. My husband and I live in a period 7 Zhen house, 288degrees facing. We areboth Kan people. From themoment we moved into this house about 2 years ago, we have been involved in lawsuits in one way or another.Luckily most have been settled out of court or we won the case in court. Still we have had to go through the process. I would like very much to stop this trend. I posted a question asking how to reduce the potential for lawsuits and one of you kindly responded by suggesting thatI look for directions where a 3 was located and use metal as a remedy. Fire was also suggested provided 2/5 were not present (this does not occur with his house in 2005). Then I asked a question about what would the Metal remedy do to the 7 in the west direction (front door) of our house. I did not get a reply, so I reworded the question and reposted. This time I received a reply that said one should strive to complete a Productive cycle FIRST. If I use the cure for the west's 3 7 6 relating to the Productive Cycle, then Water would be the cure, but now I'm still confused because Water helps Wood (3) to thrive. This is the very thing I am trying to reduce the effects of. It is probably that I was not clear in my rewordedquestion that caused what is now great confusion in my mind. I beg your pardon. Would you be so kind as to help me see more clearly how to deal with the problem of the unfavorable 3? There are two other directions where the 3 occurs this year. In the SW (kitchen) there is 8 3 1. My guess is that Fire should be used here to not only complete the Productive cycle but to reduce the unfavorable effects of the 3. Is this correct? The third area is the SE (office on first floor and master bedroom onsecond floor) where the 3 is visiting. The combination 6 1 3 is there this year. This is already a Productive cycle so do I do nothing OR is fire needed to reduce the 3? Thank you. Best Wishes, Oliv Sullivan
  16. Thank you SO much Master Lee. This has been a very confusing area for me during the 3 years I have studied tradtional Chinese feng shui. No one, until you, has explained the process of choosing a remedy (first Productive then Destructive). It is such a simple and basic point, yet if a student is not aware of it, it becomes quite a large issue. Once again THANK YOU!! Best Wishes, Oliv Sullivan
  17. If Metal was used toremedy the 3 (arguments/conflicts/lawsuits)in a sectorthat has3M (wood)/7W (metal)/and 6A (metal),how would it affect the unfavorable 7? If Fire is used as the remedy, will it reduce the favorable 6? Thank you.
  18. Thank you, Master Lee, for your advice. I have two more questions, please. You wrote: To avoid lawsuits, you have to check out where is the Lu Chun Xing (Star 3 - Wood) under the flying star analysis. If there are such stars present in areas such as your main door, frontage, bedroom or study room which you use. These are the stars you want to neutralise so as to reduce any such lawsuits/conflicts. The solution is to have more Metal.Fire is also possible so long as there is no Star 2/5 present. These are the stars normally associated with the Lawsuit issues. Would this apply to a sector where the Lu Chun Xing is either the Mountain star, Water staror where it is just the Annual star? Example: Our front door is faces West where there is 3 mountain/7water/6annual for 2005. Also the SE (kitchen area) has 3 Water and the SE (office) has 3 Annual in 2005. Should all of these areas be addressed for reducing the 3? If the 3 should be remedied in the West sector, I am confused about what is the best to do since an auspiscious 6 is visiting in 2005. The numbers there then would be 3 (wood)/7 (metal)/and the visiting 6 (metal). If a metal remedyis used to reduce the 3, while it would enhance the visiting 6, what would it do to the unfavorable metal 7? If Fire is used as the remedy, will it reduce the favorable 6? Please forgive my perhaps silly questions....I just can't seem to get a grasp of the remedies when several numbers are in play. Thank you for any help. Best Wishes, Oliv Sullivan
  19. Thank you Master Lee for you reply. While your explanations were well understood, some other questions/need for clarification have come up. The situation I am dealing with is that in the SE of the house (Zhen 288 degrees facing built in 2001) the office is located on the first floor and the master bedroom is above it on the second floor. Consequently we spend nearly all our hours, both waking and asleep in the SE. Further, in the office there are two small walls (one with a black piece of furniture on it) that are painted in a deep berry red color. The master bedroom has primarily Wood and Earth elements (mostly through color) with a small amountof Metal (metal headboard). The numbers for the SE of our home in 2005 are 6 mountain/1 water/ 3 annual. Am I correct in assuming that in this particular case and because the Fire element is already present in the office, that Metal should be introduced? Should something also be done to reduce the Fire which exists? I do not wish to repaint the walls a different color, but am open to other remedies. Thank you for your advice. Best wishes, Oliv Sullivan
  20. Dear Master Lee, When there are two inauspicious numbers within a sector, what should one do? Here is a personal example: in the East there is 7 mountain/2 water and 2 annual. In attempting to figure this by myself, I have consulted the Reductive Cycle chart.Metal and Earth are both involved, but since Earth is doubled and also visiting would more Metal be the remedy? Also, if the area in question does not have any living space but is made up only of a staircase and closets, does it even matter whether the area has a remedy? Thank you. Best Wishes, O. Sullivan
  21. Dear Master Lee, I have read that in 2005 auspicious3 Lu Cun Star is visiting the SouthEast. AlsoSouthEast is the home of auspicious 4 Green Wen Qu Star.It was advised that Fire be used to "take advantage of thegood luck". I am totally confused because both of these stars are of the wood element. Why would oneuse fire as an enhancement to wood? One more question.....are these annual enhancements and remedies for ALL houses? I only know enough about feng shui to make me dangerous, but it seems to me that since each house is different, the other numbers for each sector need to be considered with the visiting annual number to come up with an accurate remedy or enhancement for that particular house sector. Thank you for explaining this. O. Sullivan EDITED BY ROBERT LEE: Everyday, besides the numerous forum postings, we also have paid cases/services and e-mails to clear. It will take us time to clear each posting after they have been verified. It is not easy because each time we answer say 10 questions, there will be a whole new 15 questions that are posted. So we can only answer as much as we can when we have the time. Often the more personalised questions (ie does not benefit the masses) or more complexare usually attended last when we have more time. P.S. Was there a particular reason that my question about Avoiding Lawsuits in 2005 has not been answered yet? Perhaps it is missing information needed to answer it?
  22. Dear Master Lee, Between a procrastinating husband and bad weather, we now have a half painted (exterior) house. Can this affect the feng shui? In what way(s)? Best wishes, O. Sullivan
  23. Dear Master Lee, My house is a Zhen housefacing West at 288 degrees and built in 2001. Both my husband and I are Kan people. We want to avoid lawsuits and arguments with othersor have the judge rule in our favor should there be a lawsuit in 2005. To encourage this, what remedy or enhancement in which direction do we need for our house? Thank you in advance for answering my question. Best wishes, O. Sullivan
  24. Hello. We'd like to sell our house. It's been on the market for a little over amonth but so far no one has made an offer. Is there something we could do to a particular direction to enhance the possibilities of it being purchased soon? The house sits 288 degrees and was built in 2001. Both current residents are Kan people. Thank you. Best wishes, Oliv
  25. Thank you, Master Lee, especially for reminding me about the trigram data (e.g. NW = Father). Would you please clarify something for me? You wrote: "F1= N, F2 = E, F3 = S, F4 =SE. Generally, these Facing directions are a better choice (for stove placement)." Are you considering the Facing directionthe direction in which the Door of the Oven would be looking toward (thus the back of the stove would be Sitting)? The reason I ask is because in my example, NW would be the Sitting direction of the stove with the oven door looking to the SE, yet you advise that NW is not a good direction to place the stove. I'm a bit confused. What is the wisdom behind not having a stove face a sink, refrigerator or dishwasher? Am I correct in assuming that you mean that they should not be in a direct line across from each other, but that having them on opposing walls but not in a direct line is not harmful? Best Wishes, Oliv Sullivan
