Thanks for the reply. Do you think working in an Earth industry on a Macro level, even if one is not doing an Earth type job, is better than working in an Earth type job? Another somewhat related question. I paid for a standard Bazi of my daughter. It says she is a strong Water person and says Fire job is good for Wealth and Earth job is good for Power. For her Fire job analysis, she has 2 Earned Wealth and 3 Unexpected Wealth, and for the Earth job, she has 2 Authority only. Also it says her Career Star is the Creative Star. I remember one of your web pages said that Music and Art are counted as a Water element activities, that means they are not so good for her right? However she has a natural talent for music and art and draws very well and is a talented violinist who is doing very well in her music. She loves playing the violin too. So does it mean it's not going to be good for her? However being a professional musician involves playing to many audiences for money or for pleasure. It is no use just sitting at home playing to oneself or to one's family and friends only - this is something her violin teacher is keen to emphasise. He himself was a very talented violinist and he doesn't believe in playing an instrument for the sake of earning grades. He believes the point of playing music is to entertain others, and he is always encouraging her and giving her opportunities to play violin with other children in an orchestra, or play in public performances. Am I right in thinking that the performance/entertainment industry aspect of being a musician is a Fire industry/career? And in that case, does that mean that it actually suits her to become a performing violinist? She does enjoy playing and perfoming in front of audiences! That is something I don't have myself - I was quite good at piano but I have stage fright and don't like performing for others, so I never did anything with my piano training although I went all the way to Grade 8 (my mother did push me a bit). Also, my daughter loves animals. She would like working with animals too if she could. She doesn't mind if she doesn't become a vet. She would be happy even being a vet nurse or a dog sitter. I'm just wondering if it is worth continuing to help her down the violinist path as it is costing us a fortune in terms of time, money and effort. I have to take her to violin lessons and to children's orchestra every week, plus exams, rehearsals, etc. I don't know if it is worth it in the end, although she says to me now she loves violin too much to give it up. What should I do?
