  1. The RC wall (reinforced concrete wall) refers to that short thick black line beside your marking Y. Option 2 is to build the altar against this wall instead of at Y. If I choose to go via Option 2, I would like to actually convert the wall at Y into a counter top that can overlook into the kitchen. The purpose of this is more so that when I am in the kitchen, there is an 'opening' thru the wall at Y so that I cansee what my kids are doing in the living room. That's why my intention is to place the altar beside Y and hack down part of Y to create an 'opening' and a small counter table top. I suppose there shouldn't be any issue with the altar standing beside a counter top?
For Option 1, what other stove locations are there or the stove location has to be dependent on my Ba Zi? If I go via Option 1, for the shoe cabinet, if I construct it in the space behind the main door on the left, is it considered ok?

    These are some considerations:1. Not
sure what you mean by RC wall?2. Please
    refer to attachment:2.1. In general,
from a Chinese custom point of view, it
is agreeable that the best altar
position is at marking in RED "A". As
per your suggested Option 1.2.2. Other
    viable locations are:-2.2.1 Next
    best locations by ranking are
    eithermarking(s) B, Y or C.2.2.2
But for those who may like to select
either marking B or C may have some long
term side-effects. As there were some
earlier studies where if one were to
constantly light joss sticks, the fumes
would often flow into the various
bedrooms. And if there is an elderly or
children in the various bedrooms; long
term exposure is not that healthy.3.
Marking Y is if the original wall is not
knocked out. And to make sure that
behind the altar, there is no oven or
stove or any such objects.4. Stove
position if the altar is at Option 1:
    there are two considerations:4.1. In
common sense Feng Shui, some say that it
is not good to let the stove face an
opening. One of the reasons is because,
our eyes are not at the back, and in
some Feng Shui literature, some say that
a person could just walk (sneak) up to
the person cooking and give a "fright"
to the person cooking.4.2. Symbolism in
Feng Shui. Did one see the range
highlighted in YELLOW. Only if the study
room has been converted into a bedroom.
And if the bedroom door faces the stove.
It symbolises that the person sleeping
in that bedroom may get a fever or have
health concerns. If it is not a bedroom,
not a concern, here. 5. A last resort
for the altar at marking E means that
any tv or hifi speakers should not be
too close to the altar. Plus, if an
altar is at marking E or D; make sure
that there is no direct sunlight e.g.
the east sun or the west setting sun
rays shining towards the altar top.6. In
general, marking in RED "A" is
considered as a good choice except that
a shoe cabinet should not be constructed
at the base or bottom of the altar. If
one is prepared to change the kitchen
door to marking X. There are some other
plus points for the kitchen door at
marking in purple "Y"; but this has more
to do with common sense which I will not
    relate, here.On 1/28/2013 11:17:54 AM,

  2. Hi
We are looking into a custom-made altar for worshipping Buddha and Earth God in our new flat. But we are not sure which is the ideal location. Attached are the pics of the various options:

But with this, it will seem that the stove will be in line with the new kitchen entrance and if I'm not wrong, this is not a good stove location right?
    Option 2:
Build the altar against the RC wall and we are also looking into using the excess space beside the altar as counter top looking into the kitchen (only the bold line representing the RC wall cannot be hacked, but the remaining wall can be hacked)
Appreciate youradvice as to which is a better option, or if none of this works, what other alternatives are there?
