  1. Dear Terry, Terry Law wrote: Can we activate the water star 8 when the annual 5 yellow or 2 illness star is there? Yes, you can still activate the water star 8. Water star usually is activated with water. So water feature will activate the water star 8 making ie stronger. This star will actually harness and drain the annual star 5/2. You won't activate the star 2/5 unless you add fire or earth element influence in that sector. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.

  3. Dear Gi Soh, Gi Soh wrote: I am looking at a condo unit which is facing west and a summit. Feng Shui wise is it ok ? Generally, all west facing homes will faceafternoon sun which can make the unit warm every day. This in itself is a potential problem as if a person feels hot, the likelyhood of getting angry or even hard to focus. So even for those West group person, it is still not so advisable to choose a west facing house unless it is somehow shaded. As for facing a summit (of a hill?), if so whether or not it is good depends on where is the mountain star is located from the flying star analysis. You see a house will benefit from the facing (clear space) and moutain support. So if the flying star is in the right orientation where the mountain star is where there is a mountain support in the surrounding, and clear space at the frontage then of course this is good. Else, it may not necessary be good. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  4. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi, my DOB is: 26 November 1978(Western) between 0230am to 0300am. I used your online calculator and found my element to be strong water. As far as our website is concerned, our online calculator had been extensively tested for any calculation errors. Once again, I have checked it manually as the chart is correct according the the Chinese Lunar Calendarcalculation which is what our website based on for all our web tools. We also do not attempt to make any timezone conversion which may alter yourday of birth. This is because such timezone modification are actually not correct way to factor in location. Furthermore, there is really no need to do so as the ba zi is already fairly accuate without the hour pillar. Anonymous wrote: But people once calculated for me that i am a strong metal element "????h??,??????q???O,?O?y????." And that my favourable elements are water and wood, instead of wood and earth as indicated on your BaZi report. As far as I can tell, this was calculated based on one day before. So I presume it was due to some GMTmodification / Xia calendar conversions to bring the day to one day before.Xia calendarstart of theday, start of the month, start of the year is different.Especially, so if the ba zi calculated on afully converted Xia Calendar format especially whenyou are born at the start of thenew year. Under the Xia calendar, you will be the horoscope sign a year before. So whoever calculated for you before, is taking the day pillar before (25 Nov). Whereas, we take it based on the actual day 26 Nov under the Chinese Calendar. I won't be able to tell you why their calculation is so. That you will have to check with whoever you did your calculation. Frankly, we have seen and read up of so many different variations in feng shui concepts that it is hard to tell you why each master does it this way or that way. As far as I can say, all our website tools all standardise using Chinese Lunar Calendar (and not a mixed of different format from different concepts). All our calculation and analysis are also extensively tested and fine tuned to what works best for most people. So as long as you use our website tools, all the concepts can be properly related to each other to be able to give you the best overall explanation or analysis to help troubleshoot and improve your luck. 5. Dear Linda, Linda Tung wrote: I have been told that my DM element is weak, but your website says i am strong earth...someone explained that because mainly Iwas born in autumn.. what do you think of this? Here is my bazi, and below is his explanation: Linda Tung wrote: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u45/sassywf/linda.jpg Frankly, there are many factors to consider in determining whether you are a weak or strong chart. As far as our website is concerned (after considering all the elements, element strengthen, combinations/clashes/joins etc), we determine whether you are weak or strong based on the fundamental equation of whether your favourable element making you strong is it greather than your unfavourable element making you weak. As far as your chart is concerned, the final breakdown of your percentage will be:- Element Strength Percentage 1 Water Strong 12 % 3 Wood Extremely Weak 9 % 3 Fire Weakest 18 % 3 Earth Weak 28 % 2 Metal Strongest 31 % As you are born in the earth element day, this means that favourable for you to be strong would be fire+earth. While, water and wood which weakens your earth would make you you weak. Favourable Elements: 18% Fire + 28% Earth = 46% Unfavourable Elements: 12% Water + 9% Wood = 21% Metal isn't considered into the inital equation because it can both help water become stronger, and it can also destroy Wood which weakens the unfavourable elements. It also can exhaust Earth which weakens earth. So ultimately, if you cannot factor Metal into either side of the equation as it cancels it's own effect. Therefore, since your favourable element is 46% vs 21% you are deemed to be a Strong Earth. That is how we do our fundamental calculation. Of course we also did consider some of the points you mentioned. However, you also have to note, that some of the points you mentiond may be tehnically correct, but not every point should be factor in. Especially, changes that brings about indirect changes. Such as water produces wood, but it also destroys fire, and at the same time it exhaust metal. So at any one time, there are 3 ways an element adds to the element. Though, you mentioned some of the changes sounds technically correct, not every pointcan be considered into the initial equation as some have double edge influence (meaning it not only help it also destroy which cancel's that effect out). At least this is our fundamental way of finding the best way to deduce the overall state of your ba zi element. And that is how you are defined as Strong Earth. The from the Strong Earth, we later use the breakdown in the initial five element percentage to fine tune what you lack in your chart:- For example, you are a Strong Earth, So generally, you favourable elements are metal/water/wood. Wood (9%) is what you lack most so this is your most favourable element, followed by water (12%) and least favourable is metal as you have 31%. The ideal percentage is 20% of each element. Thus, some fire after you have sufficient wood+water is good as fire helps to keep the excess Metal in check. You see, you need an balance amount of each element to achieve perfect harmony. On the basic, as long as you add metal/water/wood, you will already weaken your excess earth. But on a fine tuning level, wood+water and some fire will be the way to balance your chart. Thus, as far asour website is concerned, you are a Strong Earth after we consider all the various fundamental changes in your ba zi chart and as shown in the percentage that we worked out. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

  7. Dear Janice, Janice Wong wrote: I need advice on where to star first. My condo faces SW which is Earth and the annual star is 8 which is also Earth, and the monthly star for April is 6. The no 6 star is a white star which is metal. That I have no problem (Ithink) as all are auspicious star. Actually, it is impractical, to apply monthly flying star luck changes each month. At most, you fine tune to upto yearly is still fine. Most of the time, the most important is to balance up the stars based on the 20-year chart which usually covers most of what influence for that sector. Then maybe factor in the yearly star at the beginning of each year to fine tune some of the sectors. What we are concerned about is usually where the star 2 and 5 falls each year and maybe some of the other less auspicious stars. The 20-year sector if have a star 2 and star 5 may be further strengthen that year. So additional corrections may sometimes be needed. So basically, that is all you need to do. No one will really apply changes upto the monthly star. That is more for you to know that within the whole year, which months may need to be extra careful. That is about all. Janice Wong wrote: However My room is in the South sector which is Fire, annual star which is 6 - Metal and monthly star is 4 - wood. I am a Metal person. Does that mean that I cannot sleep in this room??? I am not sure which to follow. It's hard to apply FS especially when u have to consider the annual, monthly and our own ba zi. Guess that is why we need to pay experts like u to settle our doubts. Anyway Hope to receive your enlightment soon. Having bad stars in a sectors does not mean you can't use that room. As long as you neutralise the effect, you can still effectively use the room. That is why I say, you just need to do the following:- 1. Find a room that is defined as your favourable direction/sector based on the eight house. This will be a room most suitable for you to use. 2. Neutralise all the bad stars based on the flying star principles, that means if there is star 2/5 in the sector, then you must avoid using bright yellow etc. And/or find the right cure to balance the sector. 3. Next comes your own personal ba zi element colours. Avoid colours that will activate the bad stars, then choose from the remaining colours from your own favourable colour to boost your luck. Basically, as long as you know how to prioritize which comes first etc, it isn't that difficult to apply feng shui properly and effectively. Hope that helps. 8. Dear Bansari, Bansari shah wrote: We have same wooden beam in my kids room too. which one works better 1) bamboo flute or 2) wooden support. Thanks for your advice. Bansari Generally, these are the two common ways to cure the beam problem. Both are equally effective. So can't tell you which is better. However, from design point of view the two wooden support looks less like feng shui cure and can add some decorative effect. However, if you really want the most effective method would be to build a false ceiling. From feng shui point of view, if you can no longer see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. So really, the most effective is to build a false ceiling to cover the beams. This way you will eliminate the threat completely. Hope that helps. 9. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I realised that kitchen is not good to place at the north. Generally, if you look from it at a fundamental level. North=Water, so a kitchen in the North will be like Fire vs Water which clash. However, frankly, this is only one level of looking at it. I mean given that there are only 8 directions in any layout, at some point some layout will certainly have kitchen located in the North sector. So does it mean that everyone who has the kitchen at North will be doomed? Of course, not. This is because the overall houselayout vs the house flying star luck isequally important. If the house is able to take advantage of the frontage or external Qi, even if the kitchen is not exactly located in the ideal sector, that is only 1/8 different direction that may not be suitable. A house will certainly have some good and bad points. A bad feng shui house is where you have more cons then pros. A good feng shui house is where you have more pros than cons. So the kitchen located in the North not being good is not the end of the world. Anonymous wrote: What would be the good colour and element to north placed kitchen for improvementof this situation ? With regards to this point, the colour scheme of a house should be choosen such that the colours helps to balance out and neturalise any of the inauspicious flying star influence. So it isn't right for any one to just say that just because the kitchen is in North, therefore, you need to put in this colour to balance it correctly. In fact, more importantly you need to check out what is the flying star sector number that falls in the North sector of the house. If there are stars 2/5 (Strong Earth star), then probably a white/metal decor scheme would be better. You can use the free flying star chart in our Member Area to see what stars fall in that sector, then balance the five element accordingly:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net However, a safe decor colour is white/metal as usually it can help control the star 2/5 (Strong Earth) and even star 3/4 (Wood stars). That is why you noticed some oven/fridge tends to be like stainless steel (metal), or white (metal). So these are very neutral colours that can balance most of the sectors. Hope that helps. 10. Dear Constance King, constance king wrote: hello cecil, am wondering as weak water does it matter if i should wear yellow gold or white gold or rose gold as long as it is metal? Generally, in feng shui, we can define an item by the material or shape or colour. You see most items you can't run away from the material it is made from. So in your above case, all are metal material. Butut if you look at the colours, then you can add another level of five element analysis. For example, Yellow gold is more Earth, white gold is more Metal, rose gold is more pinkish is more Fire element. If you look at it from a pratical standpoint. White Gold will draw less attention as it can be mistaken as stainless steel. While yellow gold is very striking which may draw unnecessary attention from robbers. So white gold will be more preferred to minimise any robbery. So ultimately, it depends on how you look at it. constance king wrote: also, would it be okey to have a red door ( as main door) on any of my 4 good directions? thanks Why not just leave the door as the original wood colour? This is most neutral. Rather than red which will represent fire of which some direction may not be good to have it red such as North direction. Anyway, ultimately whether or not you get good feng shui depends a lot on the external feng shui of the house itself. Not so much about what colour of the door is painted. Hope that helps. You see every year is defined by a horoscope sign, so there are 12 unique horoscope signs. There are also 5 five elements that can be assigned to each sign depending on which year within a 60-year cycle it falls in. So there is where you get the definition of being born in the year of a fire snake. But you must remember, within a year there are 365 days, so can everyone born in the year of the fire snake all be fire snake? This is not accurate form of your element. In fact, depending on which day you are born, you can be a weak water/strong water/weak woood/strongwoodperson born in a fire snake year. Therefore, the Strong water is the more accurate breakdown of the element you are born with based on the day of birth rather than the year of birth. That is why the Strong water is determined to be your true personal birth element and thus you should be improving what you lack based on that element. Hope that helps. 13. Dear Christie, Christie Tiew wrote: i read the info in this web, that indicated snake cant be a good couple, is there any way to save the relationship? pls give some advise . thank you. Generally, horoscope compatibility is only one form of compatibilty check. It does simply comparison between one horoscope signs vs 11 other different signs to come up with how compatible or uncompatible the signs will be rated. Besides that check, you can make use of the free comparison report in the Member Area:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net You see, even for Snake horoscope signs, there may be a weak water snake, strong water snake etc. A weak water snake vs weak wood snake would be a rather compatible element signs, compared to a weak water snake vs a weak fire snake. So it does not mean that all horoscope that are incompatibleh equal bad. Furthermore, in feng shui a person is affected by 3 types of luck:- 1. Heaven Luck - is what you are born with and how you relate yourself to things around you. 2. Earth Luck - is your home and surrounding environment. 3. Human Luck - is your relationship luck and your own hard work. When it comes to relationship, for any relationship to last, your human luck factor (ie how much you spend time with each other, understand each other, and tolerate each other flaw that makes a difference in a relationship). So it does not mean that an analysis telling you that it is bad will be a certain to breakup. Often most compatiblity just tell you how good or bad it is. There will still be some ways to attempt to improve. Take a weak water and weak wood snake for example. Water element becomes the binding element that helps smoothen the relatioship. That with enough human luck effort can still make a relationship work. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

A lot of terms used by other practitioner can be confusing especially when you come to facingsitting. This is because you have to also make sure that you are using the right orientation of the compass. Most will use the Chinese compass, which is South-North orientation which can add another level of confusion if you are not careful. However, our website standardize all the flying star/eight house chart based on a normal western compass. This means that if the chart says North will match your compass North. So this means that if North is good for you, your house should be facing North. This means that from inside your house looking outwards, it should be pointing North. So if you use the reports on oour website, when we say main door or frontage face North, just make sure that from inside your house looking outwards, it must be North direction when you check it with your compass. For period 7 house, the current wealth is star 7, future wealth is star 8, future future wealth is star 9. etc. So sectors where these 3 star is located are he better sectors within the house to place the water feature so as to activate the water wealth luck. It is more likely moved over to a closer period period 6/7/8 if there are major renovations works done. So you have to first determine what works was done. Even if no works were done, it is also better you fly the house luck over to period 8 the current luck so that it is much easier for you to maximise the current period 8 house qi to your existing house. Eight House (4 good or 4 bad directions). This tells you how you suitable a room or house. Even though, this is based on the year of birth, the it is still a very important concept. Where you should try to avoid having a house that falls under the Death or Disaster sector for the breadwinner. 2. Eight House direction. This we often use more a macro level if possible. Say East is good for you, so staying say in East/South-East of singapore is one way of adding wood to your luck. Anyway, between the two concept, it is still important to avoid having a house that is death or disaster. As your eight house cannot be corrected, but your ba zi can.
