Dear Cecil
Is there a property review on THE SHAUGHNESSY CLuster Hosue/Condo at YIshun?

Dear Cecil
Thanks for your comment. The design is a mock up idea. The table will have the size of normal table but joint to the cabinet. Quality will be corion top that will be attached properly to the cabinet and the legs will be a square type fixed at the end of the top and also maybe another leg with better design in the middle.
I am wondering this concept is acceptable?

Frankly, many of the concepts or beliefs
in Feng Shui has more to do with common
sense than Feng Shui.Here:1. Depending
on the built quality; if the fixed side
is not secured properly or mounted into
the cabinet but rather screwed on with L
joints; then there is a tendency for it
to collapse; be it the constant
placement on the table top or someone
were to sit on the table top (whether
deliberately or by accident).2. On the
other other; having one leg may not be
that great an idea. One fine day, if
this leg were to give way and the dining
table is filled with lots of hot food
and even soup; then this is a cause for
concern if the hot soup and items should
spill onto someone.3. Such a narrow
table should be considered perhaps more
of a breakfast niche then say a proper
dining table.4. If the quality of that
dining table is poor or due to heavy
usage; if it needs to be replaced; more
work and maybe some costs to dismantle
it etc...5. Common sense says that if
the table as shown in the illustration
can be quite long; that single leg may
not be that stable after a while given
that some one may accidentally kick it,
weakening the joint and also if the
plank is too thin, the entire table may
warp thru regular usage.6. A dining
table may not be a true representation
of one's career; but, like that say,
every little thing adds up. Even just
thinking about it's association with
one's career can be a psychological
thing - feel good or bad factor...7.
Perhaps, just imagine this scenario: one
invites one's boss and his/her family
over. And if the table should collapse
and spill hot soup onto the boss's
child; don't you think that the person
will be in HOT SOUP and may even affect
his career-On 5/17/2015 12:27:28 AM,

Dear Cecil
Unfortunately the sw,w, nw are window facing.
This the room facing the hdb walkway which have the big windows.
The only area I can have the table is to tilt a bit or can the table face the window for my boy?
The tilting is about few degree difference.QuoteOn 9/5/2011 10:22:36 AM, Anonymous wrote:

where can i get the sunto 3 compass in singapore?QuoteOn 9/4/2011 2:43:37 PM, Anonymous wrote:
These are some considerations:1. True
NorthAll streetdirectory maps be it
printed or on soft-copy are based on
True North (Geographic North). Even
google GPS maps that we download and use
are also based on true north.2. If one
is at or close to the equator, the angle
of difference between True North and
Magnetic North or this angle is called
declination is slight.3. Those
professional compass, like my favourite
i.e. brand Suunto has land-compass that
are grouped into 5 regions. At the
equator (or equator) use; the Number is
3. 4. In many of the past forum
messages, I had posted especially at the
equator, one can use a streetdirectory,
super-impose the protractor and match
the "facing direction" of a home with
it.5. At the equator or in Singapore;
Iphone 4's compass has two settings:
True North and Magnetic Compass. 5.1. If
one tries to use the Iphone 4's compass
to take a reading inside the home, it is
preferred to set to TRUE NORTH. This is
because, majority of Singapore homes are
built of bricks and cement with steel
re-bar. And if one is too close to a
pillar, the readings may be
inaccurate.5.2. Please note that even if
one is not close to the support beams or
walls, many homes or apartments also
have steel wires or steel re-bars that
line each of the floors. And if one is
standing above steel "cage like"
structures, the readings may be
inaccurate.6. Thus to use the
streetdirectory + protractor + match the
interior layout to it and then plot it
onto a layout plan i.e. the compass
cardinal points and look into each room
compass directions.7. If the Iphone
Luopan application has option to use
True north or magnetic north; in
Singapore, close to the equator, one can
use the True North indoors. But if
one is further north, the futher one is
north or south, then the declination
error rate is high.8. Thus if at the
North Pole, the TRUE geographic North
can differ from the Magnetic north by at
least 500 kms! On 9/4/2011 8:19:16 AM,

Dear Cecil
My table is position in such a way that I am sitting, my back is facing directly the toilet door and W.C. Is this bad? At the moment whenever I am sitting, I will close the toilet door. I am considering placing a curtain at the toilet entrance. Is this good enough? This is a master bedroom.

Dear Cecil
I understand that I need to have some distance between the stove and fridge and sink. But my kitchen is too small. I can only place the fridge (left), hob (centre) and sink (right) at the same area. I can only have about 6 inch gap between fridge and hob and about 10 inch between the hob and sink. Is this enough?
My fridge and hob has a frosted glass partition. Do I need to give priority to have bigger gap for sink or fridge?
I heard that the gap must be around 1.5 feet to 2 feet minimum? Please advise. Tks

dear Cecil
I have position my desk on a wall unfortunately my back is facing the toilet directly and my toilet bowl also facing the toilet door, IE my back is facing the toilet door and the toilet w.c directly.
I can't find a suitable place to place the table. Can I place a curtain to cover the toilet door? I am staying a four room hdb flat.

Thanks Cecil,
Frankly I also caught it by surprise at the shop and the bed layout fits very well to tap my boys best direction.
The elder sleeping pointing to the west (below bed) and the youngest onto sleeping facing to the south, on the left and both have a strong support of the wall. And it save space too.
The table below also good for my elder boy facing the west.
Guess nothing is always perfect.
Will hunt for the normal type instead. Hope this is good layout for discussion.QuoteOn 7/7/2011 7:44:08 PM, Anonymous wrote:

Frankly, you have a point, here.2.
This type of design is not like the
regular kind of double-decker bed we
normally associate with.3. It does
remind me of some of the condo
developments where part of the
"head"
area has a lowered concrete
portion. 4.
From a sha qi
perspective: usually the
"test" is
the load-bearing kind of beam.
Where
the beam carries a load. And this
beam is a mixture of both steel rods
and
cement.5. This bottom bed (if
the
bed-head) is where it is; is
technically
kinda of like those
under Para 3 type
but of a "softer"
material i.e. plywood
material. In
my opinion; less of a
concern.6.
But, seriously, it is
anyone's
guess; as in the past like in
the
1960's onwards; till now; don't
often see such a bed-head.7. If one
wants to place it safe; then
perhaps;
shift the bed-head to the
uncovered area
and child's legs
within the
"beam-of-sorts". 8.
Frankly and
honestly.. it's also
something new to me
- and I really
have no experience
what-so ever in
this area. Thanks for
sharing this
layout. If you have not
pointed it;
I would not notice it,
also9. If in
doubt; since this photo
shows it is
in a show-room; then best
not to
consider such a bed-frame.On

Dear Cecil
Based on your recent post of using street directory to find the facing of a HDB flat, I have done an experiment on BLK786D Woodlands Dr 60, S734786, is the facing i calculated is correct is facing Geng W1 248 degree.
Is this how you calculate?

I recently bought the Iphone 3GS and also bought the Loupon compass for testing.
I have been taking compass direction at the exact same spot a few time interval and always got a different readings.... haha
Is digital compass can be used for reading or still need to use the conventional compass?
If i have few different reading at the same spot, what can be done. I am leaving in HDB. so taking reading in the flat and outside the common walkways..

thanks. superb and clear reply.

I printed my Eight Characters Feng Shui Chart. Am I correct to say that I need to spend more time at the favourable sector acording to the Eight Characters Feng Shui Chart and face my 4 favourable direction according to my KUA No.? if the favourable direction element is in conflict with my personal element, I should avoid it.
-
What is the difference between the Kua element and the 4 pillar element?. FOr example my Kua is 1 (water element) and my 4 pillar is Weak Fire, WHich element should I use in term of to improve my element? (feng shui).
-
My bed (face facing the bedroom door) facing the bedroom door. Instead of using a divider between the bed and the entrance, can i use a curtain hanging form the ceiling to the wall?. Do I need to block the entire bed or just partial will do?.
-
I'm confused on personal element. I'm born in 1972, one of the FS practitioner said I'm water life and is used for FS analysis. If i use the 4 pillar, I find my personal element is weak fire. What presonal element should I use?
-
I recently have a feng shui practitioner to evaluate my HDB flat. How can I find out if he is practicing Black Hat (before I ask him directly - I'm not quite sure he will answer me).
-
I have a limited space in the kitchen (HDB flat). i understand that I need to have a distance of about 2 feet of more for my stove (fire element) with the sink and fridge (water element). Is there any cure if I can't allocate the required distance for my stove and sink/fridge?. Is it that important to have the distance?.
I also note that my stove nob is pointing towards my main door. Is it OK?. Any cure?
-
I recently read a FS book stating that an East person should stay in the East house (vice versa) even though the direction of the door may not be favourable. For eg, an East person with KUA No.1 should stay a house that faces West (even though this direction is not favourable to the person)in order to categorise the house as an East house.
Pls comment.
