I have been researching ba gua mirrors for home protection.

Why are the trigram sequences different ?

 

Whats the reason for the difference ?

Frankly, traditionally or historically, there are only two known authenticated sequences:

The First Heaven Sequence Ba Gua Trigram vs
The Later Heaven Sequence

They may be other newer variants.

If you are into research, it makes sense to know and understand the various significance attached to each of the trigram e.g. which season it belongs to; the significance to a family "Father, mother etc..." and what element e.g. "Heaven, Earth, Fire, Water etc.."

These are the fundamentals in doing a research.
