Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 9, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 9, 2020 Pencil Tree (Euphorbia tirucalli) I have observed this tree in a smaller form in several locations, though not frequently. It brings to mind the longtong dish featuring long beans, or popiah that includes French beans... This tree is devoid of leaves. Alternatively, its leaves resemble twigs more closely. Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 9, 2020 Author Staff Share Posted March 9, 2020 Nerium Oleander Hardy Red Oleander Evergreen Also near to this tree...lovely pink and maroon flowers.. Really brightens the day! SUN: Oleander prefers full sun. It will also tolerate partial shade, but its foliage won't be as dense. It is also tolerant of heat, drought, wind, and coastal conditions. SOIL: Plant in well-drained soil for best results. Oleander shrubs can adapt to many kinds of soil conditions: poor soil, sandy soil, and a range of soil pH levels. WATER: Water whenever the top inch of the soil becomes dry. BLOOM PERIOD: Spring to summer, sometimes early fall, and year-round in warmer climates. USES: Great for flowering hedges, cottage gardens, coastal gardens, Mediterranean gardens, city gardens, or large containers.
