Source & Credit: I would like to purchase either a smart doorbell, smart lock, or smart peephole so that i can get notified if any courier is here to drop off parcels or food. This is because we are very close to our neighbour and we wouldn't want to block their exit. Can someone suggest some brands or models that might be applicable to me? And where can I buy them? If got showroom would be the best! Thank you so much! Regards Ben

August 31, 20241 yr Author Staff Architects’ or designers’ views on residents’ concerns and how civil servants address them Source & Credit: Rain or shine, residents suffer. Hot sun hits in directly wher we use kitchen sink, but WORSE when it rains, the rain converges into waterfalls to flow into residents' houses. We close the windows but there's no window in the toilet no air ventilation and toilet is always mouldy. Function of a roof is to SHELTER us from rain and sun, weather element or even bird droppings. The idea to construct a BIG HOLE in a roof is mind boggling. READ before sharing constructive suggestions if u have any. Sorry we cannot move house due to elderly members & kids school and we cannot apply permit to build own mini roof because not approved by HDB. We wrote to HDB town council to seal up the holes but this is their reply: We wish to share that the circle openings at the roof slab is not a design features, it was to give the block a linear profile and allow sunlight to reach the rooms below. We have looked into your suggestion and regret to inform that we are unable to seal off the opening.

September 10, 2025Sep 10 Author Staff Mirror, Mirror on the Wall Hi Master Cecil, can I check if the mirrors in the master bed room is arranged okay? I know 3 mirrors are preferred to 2 Usually, people stand and look at the mirror within the red-circled area. In this spot, there shouldn’t be a split line when we see our face in the mirror. So, whether it’s a two-piece or three-piece mirror, it makes no difference for viewing your reflection. However, a three-piece mirror means the storage cabinet has smaller doors, which are much easier to handle. - Master Cecil Lee -- This makes a lot of sense -- +++ ZOOMED IMAGE +++ More This isn’t about Feng Shui, but it’s often better if the shaded area is also covered by the mirror, so it’s easier to see your face. Otherwise, you may have to stand further back, near the WC, just to get a proper view. But if you’re okay with that, then that’s fine too. - Master Cecil Lee Just wait until you’re holding a baby and need to see both faces—LOL - Master Cecil Lee +++ ZOOMED IMAGE

November 1, 2025Nov 1 Author Staff Hi Master Cecil, Just checking if it’s alright to have a glass window behind the sink. there’s a dividing line in the middle >> based on common sense. Most of the time one will stand at this window and see an ugly line .. and it blocks the view. So you suggest to change to one whole piece ? >> Yes, also easier to clean. And smarter. Unless the purpose is to open this window.. not sure for what reason Ok, if from Fengshui perpective, Is this a problem? Divide line in the middle behind sink... >> not Feng Shui but previously mentioned: Common Sense Note: Master's Reply = >>
November 9, 2025Nov 9 Author Staff Question: So for example if like this white, I just changed the door colour black, the rest of windows can just stay white colour ok right? Yes okay. Actually white door is okay still. But based on common sense, not Feng Shui, white door especially near the handle area always become stained or dirty that’s all Oh I see, what you said makes sense, easy to dirty, thats why black is good easy maintenance. Thank you for your advice
November 16, 2025Nov 16 Author Staff Common sense vs Stigmas vs Taboos? Common sense is practical knowledge or reasoning that most people use to make everyday decisions. It’s based on general experience and logical thinking about what is safe, sensible, or effective. Stigmas are negative labels or judgments that society places on certain behaviors, conditions, or situations. They create shame or social rejection for people associated with those things, discouraging open discussion or acceptance. Taboos are strong cultural or religious prohibitions against specific actions or topics. Taboos are considered unacceptable or forbidden, and violating them often triggers strong emotional reactions or social penalties. In short, common sense helps us make good decisions, while stigmas and taboos are social pressures that shape what people think is acceptable or unacceptable.
