2. Yes this is correct. Under the Four Symbolic Animal Concept (pertaining to the concept where the back should have `solid backing' and front `clear space') no matter where the house faces this should be the concept. (Based on Shapes and Form School of interpetation of the Four Symbolic Animal Concept).

3. Yes, this is correct under the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui `where' the `bird or phoneix' can fly freely infront of the house. This signifies a good frontage for the front side of the house.

4. It does not matter if the main door is at the side of the house in this situation. The front of the home is always easy to recognize.

5. In many Chinese cities, cold winds and yellow dust come from the north, so buildings avoid putting windows or doors on the north side.

6. Houses usually face south. This is why many classic books focus on homes in China and talk about the Four Symbolic concepts with the Bird (south) and Tortoise (mountain/north) in these cases.

7. In the Compass School of Feng Shui, things are different because colors are used. For example, the bird (phoenix) is red, which stands for the south direction.

8. As I have mentioned before, pictorial representations are the easiest to understand. That is why some Feng Shui schools use these ideas. But if we do not understand them clearly, it can be confusing because different schools have different interpretations.
