1950s to 1960s simple and sturdy concrete bus shelter design. No lightning rod protection on the roof, unlike the shelters built today.

Instead of the modern, spaced-out bollards, there is a low concrete wall to prevent vehicles from intruding into the bus stop.  It does feel a bit unfriendly, though.
If you notice, the potential passenger has to first step down from the platform before he or she can enter the bus.  In the past, there was really no such thing as being elderly- or disabled-friendly. The concrete roof is also slightly slanted toward the rear of the bus stop for efficient rainwater drainage.

Today, Year 2024, this is what remains of Lorong Kemunchup road

This area once housed many factories, including the famous Ford factory and Hume Industries, which produced concrete pipes for civil engineering works.

1990's

The benefit of an expansive shelter is its enhanced capability to shield commuters from rain. However, a notable drawback is the presence of only two round stone seats, which limits seating availability. Consequently, only two or three commuters can observe the approaching bus, while others are unable to view the arrival of the buses.

Year 2024 Improved. Location opposite HDB Tampines GreenGem BTO

The bench seats, positioned near the back of the shelter's roofing, are protected from rain by large glass panels featuring a bus directory, which effectively keeps these seats dry.

This earlier model, lacking a glass panel, is susceptible to moisture accumulation on the seats.
