East Coast Park & Long Island preparatory works

- When it starts: Preparatory works are slated to begin from end-2026.
- Where it happens: Works will be offshore along East Coast Park, broadly between Marina Barrage and the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, with reference points including Bedok Jetty.

- How it’s staged (2 phases):
- Phase 1 (from end-2026): Approx. 570 ha work area (the larger initial zone).
- Phase 2 (after the SEA Games in 2029): Approx. 155 ha work area.

- What will be installed: Silt screens / floating barriers will be deployed (and extended where needed) to manage sediment during works.

- What visitors can still do at East Coast Park:
- Land-based activities (e.g., jogging, cycling, barbecues): Can continue
- Beach activities (e.g., picnics, sandcastles, volleyball): Can continue
- Near-shore activities (e.g., swimming, fishing): Can continue but only at a safe distance from floating barriers
- Sea sports (e.g., sailing, windsurfing, kayaking):

- Phase 1: Allowed east of Bedok Jetty, but not within the Phase 1 work area
- Phase 2: Under study (details to be confirmed)
