Dear cecil,
In some of the books I read about using the coal as a remedy. I do not understand the purpose of using coal. Can you clarify this. Thanks.

Dear Anon,
I believe these are `modern' books.
We are aware that charcoal can be used to neutralise odour e.g. in a fridge.
Perhaps, those who recommended using coal is on the same concept e.g. to `absorb'... something...
