Statues of old people

Recommended Posts

Dear cecil,
I read somewhere that displaying of statues of the old people is considered good since it signifies wisdom and long life but other book says that it is bad to display these figurines since it signifies death and decay. So what is the truth. Thanks.

Dear Anon,
The most common statues of `old people' is the Fu Lu Shou Statute.
Here, you can see the deity of `Longevity' holding a `peach'.
Other than these, there are other Chinese `old' person's figurines. I have a collection of `old persons' with various poses will try to take photos of these and post in the forum.
In my opinion, it is not `bad' nor inauspicious to display such figurines.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
