Pair of wooden hands in recieving position

Dear cecil,
The wooden pair of hands are in recieving position since the thumbs are folded towards the palms but they are empty so where is the best place to keep it and should something be kept inside them or should be displaced as it is and what is the significance attached to them. Thanks.

Apologies, are the hands pointing towards the sky (vertical upwards) or level i.e. horizonal position?
