Taking over grandmothers business

Recommended Posts

My grandmother who I adored and looked up to opened her own clothing store in 1942. She was very successful and I often came to the store to play when I was very young and as I got older I would help her out. I loved being with her and in her store. She passed away eight years ago. I gave her eulogy at the funeral. Many people I did and did not know came up to me later and said how eery it was to see me because I looked and acted like me grandmother when she was my age. Since then I have always felt her presence and often pray to her for guidance or direction. I am currently living in Chicago and have had a difficult 8 years career wise. About two weeks ago my mother came to me and asked if I would be interested in running my grandmothers store. The women we have running it for us now is wanting to retire. Wow, their it was, my grandmother giving me guidance. I have always had a love of fashion and i am an extremely creative with person. I have often dreamed of opening my own store. I now have the opportunity to do so and even one better the store I grew up in started by the grandmother i love so dearly. I have been reading about feng shui but can't quite get the grasp of it. I want to apply it to the store, my new house, and my new life. I will be moving from Chicago to a town in Oklahoma. Big change, big move, big everything. I know this is where I am supposed to be heading. I will be coming full circle. I see now that the chaos and struggle of Chicago is tearing me down, it is unhealthy for me. This has all happened so sudden and I will be making this move on June 1. I don't have a lot of money but I will be restoring the store and the house I will be living in. I want to apply feng shui but don't know how to go about this. Advice please. I get so confused when I read about feng shui. Is their any software available or affordable feng shui practitioners.
Thank you in advance
Roxanne

Dear Roxanne,
1. Thanks for sharing with us information about yourself.
2. Since, the store has always been there and if you have already choosen a house, my advise is that, you can at your own pace, `incorporate' Feng Shui into `your life'.
3. I am not familiar with any Feng Shui practitioners within Chicago.
Perhaps you have to check around and the best is to hear from friends or word of mouth.
4. Since you have been always kind with your grandmother, I am sure, you will always be blessed and carry on with her work.
5. In several of the postings, you can always move in and later `catch' up on Feng Shui as it will go not `go away'.
Frankly, many people, have not even heard of it and are doing just as well.
Do take your time to digest Feng Shui. Overall, if all the fundamental concepts are in place e.g. good shapes and forms, this is acceptable.
6. In my opinion, time should be well spent on adjusting to the new environment etc...
Wishing you all the best!
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
