Dear Anon,
Ba Zhi is the romanised word = Eight Characters.
In fact " Eight Characters " is actually Pillars of Destiny.
The reason why it is often called Eight Characters is because Pillars of Destiny consists of 4 Pillars x 2 elements (stem and branch).
Therefore " Four Pillars or Pillars of Destiny " is based on 4 Pillars x 2 elements = 8 characters = Eight Characters or Ba Zhi.
