Place of birth

Recommended Posts

Cecil
I gave geomancy my date of birth etc for feng shui reading ............ i want to pay for
an more indepth reading but i was told by a freind that unless whoever was giving me
the reading took the place of my birth, it would be totally inacurate, as one of the
pillars will be wrong. Is this so? because if it is it will mean that the free reading that
i have taken notice of is wrong.
Please advise
Many thanks
Simon

Dear Simon,
Please see below:-
Generally, the free reading you get is based on the version 7 where it only
takes into account the 4 main pillars (hour, day, month, year). It does not
yet take into account the two additional houses (House of Life and House of
Conception) as in the version 8 reports. So it DOSE NOT provide a full
reading.
Also, because it is free, we did not fully analyse the various
combinations/joins and clashes/harms/punishmens/self punishments. And lastly, it is all defaulted to the "weak" element.
So you will only a basic reading but the fact that you are say a weak element (eg. weak wood). Means that your true element is a wood for example is 100% correct and provides a fairly basic analysis for the luck pillars. Otherwise, it is not a complete reading as stated. It is a limited Pillars of Destiny reading. However, it is accurate enough for many general analysis.

Anyway, I have extracted a small section from the help which helps you
answer some of the question you asked in the extract below:-
Take note that in the Traditional Pillars of Destiny, this location factor
was never calculated. It was only recently that such factors was introduced.
And how was it done? Simply obtain the location factor and adjust the GMT
timezone to get the current location factor.
However, the true way is to apply the location factor into the changing
influence of the Moon. This is the true correct way to apply if you really
want to apply the location factor. However, personally, this is actually not
needed.
Reason:-
1. The HOUR OF BIRTH only helps to further determine whether the birth
element is weak or strong if found. Thus, it would at least be best to be
able to have this information.
2. The HOUR OF BIRTH does help to provide an additional House Pillar for
advance analysis.
Otherwise, it is no longer used when analysing your 10-year, 5-yearly,
yearly, monthly or daily luck pillars.
This means that ultimately the determination of whether a day is good or bad
depends very much on the interaction with the birth element and the 10-year,
pillars for example.
So the only usefulness of the HOUR OF BIRTH is to hopefully provide a more
accurate determination of the birth element strength and the balance of the
five element in your chart.
3. The pillars of Destiny was designed to work with our without the HOUR OF
BIRTH. This means that if you read several of the books written by other
authors or masters, and you hear them commenting on the birth chart of
famous people, they often do not even have the HOUR OF BIRTH and NEVER apply
the location factor and yet get an accurate reading?
Simply because it is never really needed. The location factor if done
incorrectly can in fact make your reading even more incorrect especially for
those of the location factor online calculator we have seen developed or
applied to the Pillars of Destiny. They get your location and Plus or Minus
the GMT timezone to get your so call true birth element. But I can tell you
that is wrong as the Plus or Minus GMT timezone only affects one direction
of the change of the influence.
Also, if this shift is applied to Xia Calendar or Seasonal Calendar
calculation system of the Pillars of Destiny, this is again wrong. As the
location factor is actually mentioned by very old traditional master to
calculation the changes in the MOON location. Xia Calendar or Seasonal
Calendar does not have directly connection with the Lunar System as it is
based on the 30 days of a moon. It already is unable to determine the BLIND
DATES which is missing for certain years.
It is because Geomancy.Net understands all these reasons plus the fine
details about the analysis of Pillars of Destiny that we have safely and
deliberately left out the Location faction which can really cause a headache
to many people especially if they get it wrong.
A good reading of a Pillars of Destiny requires a good understanding of the
various interaction of your chart and the years etc. With that solid
understanding and applying the correct analysis techique, a pretty accurate
reading can be done. This can be seen from the many people who we have done
a reading for based on the system developed on the Geomancy.Net website.
Please continue to read the extracted FAQ on the matter for further
details:-

Do we really need to take the location factor into account?
Well, it is said that if we do have the location factor, it will make it
more accurate in the analysis.
However, personally, geomancy.net finds that this is absolutely not
necessary.
Why? This is because if you really understand the Pillars of Destiny as we
really do, there is no need to worry about the hour of birth.
Remember that most of the analysis done by the Pillars of Destiny is for
10-yearly, 5 yearly, and at most yearly. Normally, we do not recommend
monthly analysis (although it is possible.)
So is there really a big difference if the chart is several hours off?
The Hour factor will help determine one of the additional pillars in the
version 8. But does not have much additional effect on the version 7 report.
The hour pillars will provide 1 additional pillars to the day, hour and
month. And it will to some extend have some effect on the final analysis of
the strong or weak element. But that is the main key influence.
It does not influence the Month or year pillar all. And since it does not
affect that two, which happens to be the deciding factor of the 10-yearly
and yearly analysis. It has very little impact in terms of the final
analysis, unless the element of hour pillar is determined to the change the
basic element strength.
Pillars of Destiny was designed with the concept that it helps to chart your
heavenly luck. And all that is really needed is the DAY, MONTH and YEAR. If
these three pillars are inaccurate your entire analysis will be wrong.
The hour pillar, house of life and house of conception which is considered
the additional pillars can be ignored and a basic analysis can still be
done. So what these additional pillars do is to try to provide more accurate
analysis, but is not 100% necessary. Thus, even if it miss a little, it will
have little impact.
So should I take the GMT timezone into account?
Our answer is no. You should not take the GMT timezone (+0800) etc to adjust
your date of birth. This is because due to the many simplification in the
GMT timezone, it only takes into account a shift in one of the location
factor in the world.
The more accurate way is to take the timezone in accordance with the moon
location. However, for most cases, it is different to provide the actual
location where you are born. Thus, if you provide an inaccurate location
factor, you risk the chance of making the report LESS accurate than NOT
adjusting anything at all.
As mentioned, the initial pillars of destiny is already so flexible and
forgiving in ignoring the hour of birth, thus it has already put in some
possibility of mistakes in the hour of birth. Thus, we feel that you can
safely ignore or do not concentrate so much on this factor.
