Dear Say Pew,
Yes, for charting a Flying Star analysis; one vital information is the date of birth of the house i.e. the date the house has been built or when a major renovation has been done.
For example, you can visit this link:-
http://www.geomancy.net/fs/calendar.htm
Period 7 is between 1984 to 2003.
While Period 6 is between 1964 to 1983. Especially if the house was built say in 1989 and currently does not have any major renovations done to it.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
