Dear John,
Pian Cai or Unexpected Wealth usually refers to either wealth gained thru promotions and monetary merits gained from work or that there is a greater chance of winnings at the lottery.
This is particulary so, if one's specific 10 year Luck Pillars as shown in this example:-

While Pian Yin or Unexpected Funds, usually refers to funds e.g. such as inheritance.
