Completed Major Maintenance Work - 5 to 11 Apr

Dear Users,
We apologise to all users if they had encountered problems accessing our website or had trouble e-mailing to us in the past weeks.
There had been several problems on different areas of the server and PC (ie ISP maintenance work, server slowdown, our server maintenance work, plus a generally increase in unwanted traffic at our ISP - SPAM/Denial of Service attack etc) which resulted in several downtime or server slow down within the month of mid Mar/ early Apr.
So we actually took the past couple of days (since last Sat.) to do a massive maintenance work on our various and support PCs we use. Our e-mail support was affected as we took down our E-mail support Server to be re-installed etc.
We are glad that the various work done has improved the various area:-
1. Server Performance has been greatly improved while the Security against unwanted traffic (ie SPAM/Denial of Service etc) are also in place so as to reduce any impact of such activities on our server.
2. We had been defragging/tweaking/fixing the various hardware/software on our various servers.
3. New Dedicated Support Center Server that handle all inbound E-mail and Fax support was re-setup and re-organised. So that our various Support PCs now route our e-mail though this server.
Users can now be 100% assured that your e-mail will reach us and replies our e-mail in turn reach you. This is how it works:-
- All Inbound e-mail (support@geomancy.net) are assigned with GEO-TICKET and you should get an auto-reply (as soon as it is received by us).
- All Outbound e-mail we send are tracked to ensure that they get delivered out to your ISP Mail Server (after which it is the responsibility of that mail server to ensure it gets delivered to you).
- All outband e-mail has an auto-acknowledgement to let us know when you receive the e-mail. If not, we will usually re-send it after few days.
So our Dedicated Support Center will ensure that no e-mail gets lost in Cyberspace - which is happens even more frequently now due to many ISPs increasing their efforts to stop SPAM/UCE which often hinder proper e-mail delivery.
4. Improved monitoring of Server (ie allowing us to detect and correct problems on our server quickly, plus monitor the performance of the server to ensure you are able to access our website smoothly.)

Now that we have completed all these works, we will be focusing back on attending to your various e-mails and support and adding new website resources.
Should users be affected by these problems. ie. Did not get a reply back to us (within 7 days), it is best to re-send them to us for our attention.
As there were several problems which could have resulted in us not receiving your e-mails or not e-mails not reaching you, thus not being able to attend to your queries promptly.
Once again, apologise for the inconvienced caused during this period if you are in any way affected by it.
