Dear Wilson,
Thank you for bringing up a very interesting question.
1. It is often highly mistaken by many in the west to associate the Chinese system of divinity, four pillars and Feng Shui with ACTUAL seasons.
(When I mention the Chinese system - it should encompass those mentioned under Para 1)
2. For example, 6 years ago, some Feng Shui practitioners in Australia wanted to bring in a new brand of Feng Shui. For example, reversing the Ba Gua system etc...
3. But all these can easily be refuted as the Chinese system can withstand all these criticisms or new fad ideas.
4. Many of the Chinese system are:
4.1. highly symbolic
4.2. the lowest common denominator is the Five elements concept and Yin and Yang principles
4.3 the lunar calenar system
5. These three areas are sufficient to bring a solid base or foundation for it to be applied anywhere else on earth i.e. be it -- down under in Australia or Argentina, the North (which is actually where China stood) and even at the equator.
6. Going forward, another critical element is the lunar calendar system : for our date of birth, luck periods etc...
7. The Hsia or Seasonal calendar or Xia Li calendar
7.1 Please do a SEARCH for the HSIA or Xia Li in this forum.
7.2 This calendar is used in the past for planting, harvesting of crops.
7.3 In Pillars of Destiny, it is used as a cross reference to the seasons or the Hsia calendar system.
7.4 In the past, I had posted the technical seasons for each of the four seasons based on this calendar system.
7.5 the most interesting thing that we can learn from the `four seasons' was mentioned in several of my past postings and in my applied feng shui book.
7.6 this is where: when one season waines, earth becomes strong during this intermittent period.
7.7 Do try to do more SEARCH for such information. I am here to provide a catalyst to learning:)
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Dear Cecil,
In Feng Shui, how do you
classify the four season i.e
spring, summer, autumn and
winter? I am rather confuse as
different places I believe
will experience different
season change each year, so
please let me know from which
date to which date is each
season.
