myfs_101678
Scouting around for a good office space. Found one at 137 Telok Ayer but the building entrance faces a famous temple. The unit I am interested in is located on the 4th floor of the building. The windows of this unit overlook the temple and the front door is located opposite so it is facing away from the temple. Is this a good location for an office? We are in the IT industry. Thanks,Chris
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 27, 2004 Staff Share Posted March 27, 2004 Dear Christina,Often, it is highly not recommended to rent an office space facing the famous temple. UNLESS, of course the rent is very attractive.More importantly, do check the compass direction. Where possible, the unit should not be in a NE (the unit) to SW compass direction. This is particuarly inauspicious "line-of-sight".Where possible, if the unit is taken-up, than, it is best to install blinds to shield the "direct" view from the temple.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/27/2004 4:04:36 AM, Anonymous wrote:Scouting around for a goodoffice space. myfs_101678
The rent is reasonable and the building is new, a combination that is hard to find in the CBD area. There are 2 units located on the 4th floor that we are interested in. The first unit has windows overlooking the temple in the NW direction. The main door is facing SE.The second unit is locate on the same floor but this unit has windows overlooking the roof tops of some shophouses in the SW direction. The main door faces the NE direction.Which is a more suitable unit for an IT business should we decide to take a unit in that building? Thanks and regards,Chris Quote On 3/27/2004 9:12:15 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Christina,Often, it is highly notrecommended to rent an officespace facing the famoustemple. Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 29, 2004 Staff Share Posted March 29, 2004 Dear Christina,Please see below:- Quote On 3/29/2004 10:07:08 AM, Anonymous wrote:The rent is reasonable and the buildingis new, a combination that is hard tofind in the CBD area. Yes, from a business perspective, this makes economic sense and being new, is equally attractive senario. There are 2 units Quote located on the 4th floor that we areinterested in. The first unit haswindows overlooking the temple in the NWdirection. The main door is facingSE. Under Flying Star FS, the facing directions for NW1, NW2 and NW3 is particularly (good) proposition. While for SE sitting or facing is still pretty attractive. Quote The second unit is locate on thesame floor but this unit has windowsoverlooking the roof tops of someshophouses in the SW direction. Themain door faces the NE direction. In my opinion, this unit may seem less attractive if (in particular, IF neighbouring roof-tops seems to slice or cut into the unit. But, this is correctable. In particular, as you have not mentioned how much "tinting" is on the windows, if the windows are well tinted, or looks like reflective glass from outside, this is often not a major issue. In particular, also, if one installs blinds within the area. Quote Whichis a more suitable unit for an ITbusiness should we decide to take a unitin that building? Frankly, Feng Shui is no miracle cure. For example, in the past, I had mentioned that there many people who came knocking asking to Feng Shui their bubble tea business. Or those selling "Luohan" fish. I told them "don't waste my time".Singapore is such a tiny country. Even Geomany.net does not even look at Singapore, but rather, focus onto the world. For example, many years back, I was bothered about even taking any .com.sg domain names. Singapore is in-fact too tiny. And, in any business, or even IT, good business sense counts. "Cash burn" or buring cash, without much prospect for say a start-up, will be in for a hard time in Singapore.Apologies if I sound "discouring". Perhaps, do take it as a positive feedbackhttp://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_smile.gifWishing you and your friends, Properity! (But underling - idea is also to take care of Health, firsthttp://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_smile.gifWarmest Regards,Cecil
