How to find the compass direction

I need help in measuring the direction of my main door. My question is how to determine NE, SE, NW & SW in the compass? North is 360 and East is 90 and what is the range that you consider NE or it must be exactly 45 or is there a range? Thank you.

As for the direction, there is a range which the angle should fall under.
Under the generating a Flying Star Report at http://www.Geomancy-Online.Com, there is a template like version of a compass, denoting the range of each angle.
